Specializes in long-term-care, LTAC, PCU.

I interviewed for 11S TCU at UPMC Montifiore several weeks ago and received my call that I was offered the job last week! I thought for sure that I didn't get it. I'm so excited! My start date is July 6th. I have one week of general orientation and then I will be paired up with my preceptor for a while. Is anyone else starting on July 6th? My general orientation is actually at Shadyside. Maybe we can sit together 'cause I'm nervous! For all those GNs waiting to hear about a job from UPMC don't lose hope. I interviewed April 14th and just heard last week. It can take some time to let you know about the job!

Good for you, very happy for you, those are the post I have been hoping to hear. I think the ice jam is starting to come unstuck.

Congratulations on your new job :yeah:.

Congrats!! I currently work on 12S so one floor above as a PCT :-) good luck on orientation and don't stress out too much, take it one day at a time. I see lots of new nurses here and they feel so overloaded with work. The whole point is to learn, so do the best you can, and eventually you will do great.

Just curious, where did you go for your undergrad? I currently go to Pitt.

Hey Michelle! I start July 6 too at the Shadyside orientation! My position is on a cardiac/telemetry floor at Presby! I'll be right next door to you. I wont know anyone at orientation either! We should email beforehand if you want. Let me know and I'll give u my email.

How long did it take you guys to get your TPP back from PA? I graduate August 21 and I am supposed to start September 14 and the time crunch scares me.

Also, has UPMC converted to all white scrubs yet? Ugh. I am going to look like a marshmallow.

I graduate May 31 from a school in CT and I had mine on June 14. I saw it posted online before I got it in the mail too.

Did your school send your stuff to PA exactly on the 31st or a little after? That is comforting to know.

I can't be sure, according to PA they will issue your tpp with just the form completed by ur nursing director and not the transcripts, which happened in my case (they still havent received my transcripts but i do have my tpp already) Just give that form to your nursing director the day you take your final exam (and find out that you've passed) and they can send it in that day for you and PA boards will be sure to have it even before your graduation, so they can at least work on processing it. Hope that helps.

Please god tell me this is just a rumor. I am the biggest slob ever, I will be buying scrubs every week forever.

It's what I heard at my interview. I am hoping to god it isn't true.
