CCAC Fall 2014 Applicants

U.S.A. Pennsylvania

Hello All,

I am starting a new thread for the upcoming application process for CCAC fall 2014 nursing admissions. I applied for the sping 2014 cohort and was declined due to my gpa, but now I'm hopeful for my first choice for the fall! I can't wait to get the application process started and wish the rest of you the best of luck!!

I was afraid of this as well. So, I faxed it and also mailed it.

Hello All! I am new to this site but decided to join now that I've been ACCEPTED to my first choice! North Campus Day! Like someone mentioned above I also faxed AND mailed my acceptance confirmation back because I am paranoid about them not receiving it! lol Congrats to all you future RN's! Anyone that also got in (especially to North Campus Day) please feel free to get in touch!! I would love to meet some of my classmates and I'm sure we're all going to be needing some support and study partners throughout the next couple years! :-)

Brittany I'm also at North Campus day. I'm excited yet scared -- especially because of how Boyce has really screwed up A&P 2 this semester.

Does anyone know when we will receive our packets about all the stuff we need to do? I know it has to be done by a certain date and Im just still nervous about getting it all done.

I'm in Allegheny eve too! New to this site, decided to join since they accepted me. Congrats to everyone who got in!

Hi Melissa my name is Alisha. Congrats on getting in to south campus day program!! What time is your orientation? I'm at 2:30.

I'm pretty sure it'll be at least another two weeks till we get our package. I am pretty sure that they wait to get all the responses and then they send out the package. And I want to say we have till the end of July to get it all done and we can't do our drug test until 30 days prior to the start date. I'm super nervous too. Like for instance, the physical. I'm not exactly sure everything that a doctor would be looking for or asking. How would a doctor really be able to evaluate if a person can physically and/or emotionally handle the program.

Congrats to everyone that has been accepted! I was accepted into the Boyce fast track program!

Congrat to everyone who got accepted ... Since I was accepted too I decided to join you guys... I am so excited ,, I was accepted into the Allegheny Evening and I fax my seat confirmation letter.... Impatient to meet you all who got into the Allegheny Evening...

For those who were asking they will be sending you a packet in the mail with instructions about everything that needs to be done and when it needs to be done. Be prepared to pay 130$ to get started. Everything has to be uploaded to a site called certified background. They will run your background check immediately and you have to go get your finger prints done. The site will provide you with everything that is needed along with the forms to print to take to your doctors office. Be prepared to get poked and probed for blood work. They want titers, two step tb, hep b series, a physical (in which they give you the form) and I'm not sure about the flu since it's out of season. I would suggest sending out for your child act clearances now just because they may take a while but mine came in two weeks. It may be best to wait until you get the letter tho because they will tell you that if things are done BEFORE the date on the letter they will not accept it. They will also tell you the exact dates in which you can go get your drug test and from where, there is also a form on the website for this as well. Be prepared to spend at least 1500 on books for the first semester. I'm at Boyce so I'm not sure how other campuses are. They will also have a packet for scrubs and cost and where you can go to get measured so they can be ordered I spent 80 on mine along with the lab coat I have yet to wear! But it's mandatory to buy. and you only need one set because your first two semesters are clinical once a week! Shoes are all white no leather I purchased a pair of danskos but I waited to ask were they ok because some schools and instructors are funny. You'll need a watch with a second hand nothing specific a pen light and scissors as well. Hope this helps! Good luck everyone!!! Enjoy the anticipation have fun this summer live life!!!! Because once you start it doesn't stop! It's a stressful roller coaster ride! I know first hand! And am looking forward to a summer of relaxation because I am physically, mentally, and emotionally drained nursing school will do that to you lol. But it will be all worth it in the end!!!

Wow....... That's a lot. :(

When do all of the medical forms need to be in from your experience? I heard for fall start July 30th, so about 2 1/2 months to get them completed...do you know if a hep b series could be completely done in the time given? My doctor can't find a record of the 2 boosters and I'm waiting to hear back from the insurance if they have them on file :/...
