Hello everybody and congratulations on your acceptance to the CCAC Fall 2014 Allegheny Evening Nursing program! I am starting this thread to perhaps connect with future classmates and collaborate with everybody throughout the process of orientation and admissions. I am waiting for the June 10th, Allegheny evening meeting to begin the process. Looking forward to training for the NCLEX!

Already? So quick? But I know that child abuse clearance is ready in about two weeks

I started mine ...I did fingerprinting child abuse and schedule mine doctor appointment for Thursday ... I guess we can start everything now isn't it ?

My Clinical Requirements link on Certified Profile hasa due date of 7-11-14 for everything other than the drug test. I would assume we need to get the ball rolling now. I am waiting on the physical appointment and the background checks in the mail.

Ok, you guys are making me nervous. I still haven't received my letter. Anyone else??

You need to call Amber. I got my letter a week ago

Ok, got my packet. Anyone get the titers done yet? Do you have to go back multiple times for hep-b and tuberculosis? I'm just curious if anyone knows. My appointment is not until the middle of June so I hope I'm giving myself enough time.

Yes, you will need to go back multiple times for both if you never had your hep b shots, if you have a record of them you only need to get the titer done. Are you going to see your doctor? If you are I would call and ask if you can get a script to get your titers pulled before your appointment, I know the health dept told me it would be 3-4 weeks before I got my results back. You would be getting really close if you waited until the middle of June to get them pulled unless you got an extension because of the delay. Also the TB test is a 2 part test, meaning 2 placements ad least 1 week apart. You need to go back and get the tests read 48-72 hours after they are placed.

Guys, who went to health department? Did you go there first and then for physical somewhere else? I'm a little confused. Called everywhere. They have cheap immunization in health department. And medexpress has cheap physicals. But immunization will be expensive there.

See everybody tonight!

What are the hours of classes and clinicals for the evening program? Do you get to choose your clinical hours? I'm trying to figure out if I can make nursing school happen but I would need weekend clinicals. Any help/advice is greatly appreciated!
