Today, after I started my shift, another RN decided to sit at the OR desk and tell others that I hated my job and did not like to work at this hospital. This is very funny because I have never said such a thing and I am not close to this person and would not confide in her anyways. Of course, I am in a room when she decides to make this judgment and pass this on to a couple of other nurses and techs. I found this out because a tech asked me if it was true and was I looking for a different job. I keep thinking why, why would she do this?

1) she is just a malacious pia

or

2) she wants your job

Because no matter where you work there's always at least one person who's bent on stirring up trouble.

The best revenge is to just keep doing a good job and to abstain from talking about anybody else (even if they talk about you). Everyone where I work knows the one guy that does this - and he talks about everyone behind their backs. So it is likely the person who said this is the type of person that does this anyway (whether it is about you or someone else).

A good response would be: "Oh, I love it here and am so happy. I haven't even thought about going anywhere else."

Personally, I would approach the person in a large group & ask her why she felt compelled to tell such an outward lie about you when you are not available to defend yourself. And then I would ask if she was confusing me with someone else...

BUT, I have been known to be a bit mouthy on occasion, so my opinion probably isn't the best.

thank you all for the responses. I feel that now I have to have smile every minute at work.

Yup, no matter where you go someone tries to tear you down. Smile, say you love your job, and thank you for sharing that with us!

well,as for me you can talk to her if she's having a problem with you.just smile & talk to her in a nice way.
