Will withdrawing hurt my chances to get into UTHSCASA

Nursing Students School Programs

I have two withdraws so far. One from an engineering draft course when I was going one way. Then I withdrew from elementary stats due to work scheduling conflicts. Now it looks like I'll have to change locations and withdraw from microbiology and stats again which I'm taking this semester. Is this a death blow for me? I'm looking at TAMUCC nursing or UTHSCASA.

Specializes in ICU.

Call the college and ask. More than anything else, it's going to hurt your financial aid if you get any. Every semester we have financial aid people come in to our classes and explain to us the consequences of withdrawing from classes. Classes aren't free and you are going to have to pay for them.

It depends on the school you plan to apply to and what their policies are on withdrawals. You could check the school's website and read up on what they accept. these are the details that matter a lot. The school I'm applying to specifically states that they only allow one retake/repeat or one withdrawal for one prereq and for one other particular school they said that a W is considered a retake or repeat.

I called UTHSCASA and they said they look only at test scores and GPA. TAMUCC said they wouldnt factor it in. This ffeels unreal. Is it because I already have a degree?
