WHNP Programs?!

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Any schools still offer Womens Health Nurse Practitioner Programs? The only school in my area that had the program hasn't admitted anyone since last year and I believe they are in the process of canceling out the program all together :( Ive been told Family NP is possible but do they work in OB settings?

Is this still an area that I can get a job in if I were to graduate with this NP degree? Ideally I would like to work in an OB/GYN office or outpatient setting providing prenatal care. Do postpartum units use NP's at all? Im not interested in delivering the babies so CNM wouldn't be for me. But I would like to provide care for women during and after the pregnancy. What are my options? Please help! Thank you!

hi,

i found out that UCSF has a WHNP program... also a CNM/WHNP program which i am interested in. let me know if you find out anything else, if you like.

Hi,

I also plan to get my WHNP. I have applied to University, University of South Alabama, & University of Cincinatti. And I recently decided to apply to Frontier University so I am currently in a statistics class because mine was taken over 10 years ago and they require the class to have been taken within the past 10 years.

I pretty much went to the WHNP website and clicked on a link that opened a spreadsheet list of colleges that offer the WHNP and their contact information.

Hope this helps.

oh great! thank you!

i am very interested in Frontier as well, for both WHNP & CNM.

Frontier University looks like a great school...I would be applying there for FNP but they can't admit students from Maryland.

I think Georgetown University has a combined WHNP/CNN program that is online with a few site visits. However they are not available in all states

how come you can't study at Frontier if you are in Maryland?
