UWG Summer 2014

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi everyone...

I just wanted to start a thread for anyone applying to University of West Georgia Nursing School starting Summer 2014. We can all support each other and share the information and updates that we know of. I am a current sophomore at UWG. Right now my GPA is at a 3.56. I will be eligible for the bonus given to students that have taken 15 or more hours at West Georgia. Last night I went and toured the new nursing building...awesome! Anyways... hope I can get some feedback! We need a support group!

My question is to the acceptees. Did anyone do the writing assessment?. I have read the threads but no one confirmed if its required or were discontinued. Congratulations to all whom got in to UWG and to those whom didn't get in a selected seat, don't be discouraged, it will happen for you.Doors could open at another institution. STAY POSITIVE :))

Has anyone seen or know the nature of the schedule/calender for summer 2014? How many times a week does one has to be in school and by what time? please, if you don't mind. Thanks

It seems like the schedule will vary each semester. For this summer, lectures are on Tues and Fridays. For fall I think lectures will be on Tues and Wed and clinical on thursdays and fridays.

So both campuses are 2 days/wk plus clinical day..well, that's good

I was referring to the Carrollton campus. Not sure what newnan's schedule will be like.

Does anybody know if the instructors prepare powerpoints for the students or just tell you to go and read the whole books? I'm asking cos I need to focus now more than ever....thanks

It really depends on the teacher. Some teachers do provide power points. You will be shocked at how little time you spend in each class and how much work you will do outside of class. Take every class seriously. Never leave anything to the last minute!

Hello All! I know this is an exciting time for everyone! Congratulations to you all! I recently graduated from UWG's nursing program and it is a great program! It's a lot of hard work but it's all worth it in the end. Your cohort becomes your second family. Anyhow, I know how expensive nursing school is and I would love to sell my uniforms to anyone that is interested. I have 3 XS zip up tops, two pair of the Cherokee flare pants in size small tall (I am 5'9") and two lab jackets in a size 8. I would love to help someone save some money and also get them out of my closet! If you are interested please let me know. Congrats once again!:D
