Nursing Students School Programs

I didn't see a group created yet for people applying in Feb/March for the fall 2015 nursing program at TCC. Figured I would start one! I am sooo ready to apply, get accepted, and start! It cant come fast enough!

Are you completing all pre-requisites for associates and bachelors before it starts?

YAY! I have been waiting for someone to open a forum for Fall 2015! I applied last semester but didn't get in. I am going to get my hesi score up and re-apply:-) Hopefully I will get in this time around!!! I am taking all associate pre-reqs and only some BSN pre-reqs before I start.

Hey guys, I'm also applying for the Fall 2015 semester! I actually applying to TCC and TWU again. So, I have all the pre-reqs for the ADN and the BSN completed. For TCC I have a 4.0 in science and a 3.8 overall, but I still haven't taken the HESI.

Are you guys taking Patho. before staring?

I'm applying this spring for fall 2015 as well. I'm soooo nervous. What about the new rule the school made about possibly no longer requiring chem? Is that not going to be one of our prerequisites?

Hello all,

I will be applying during the next application period but I was curious if anyone had a rough idea what the minimum admittance was for the Spring 2015 class. The advisors are saying that they are no longer reporting that information as it is ever changing but I am sure someone knows. Fall 2014 was 3.5 GPA & 87 HESI.

As far as CHEM goes that is no longer a prerequisite. so that will not factor into your prerequisite GPA. Also the co-requisites that are not required for admission but are required for graduation have changed slightly. They are now ENGL1301, PSYC2301, PSYC2314 & 3 hrs. Humanities/Visual or Performing Arts. I am sure you all know this but as it is has recently changed and this will be the first admittance period under these new requirements I thought I would share for anyone that may be looking.

Thanks for clarifying that for me! I'm not sure what the minimum admittance is for Spring 2015. Anyways, I'm retaking my HESI in February to get higher score because I didn't study much the first time around. I'm hoping for at least a 90. I have an A in A&P l, A in Micro, B in Chem and B in A&Pll. What are your scores so far?

No problem! I should have clarified that I will be applying in the July-Aug application period. For my prereqs I have an A in Chem, and it looks likes I will come out with an A in Micro and a B in A&P I this semester. That just leaves me with A&P II in the spring. All of my coreqs are done as are almost all of my BSN track courses. Good luck on the HESI! I have not taken it yet, but will in January. And good luck with the whole application process!

Hi!! I'm applying also, finishing up micro and a&p2 right now. It's looking good to get A's in both. I got an A in a&p1 and B in chem I'm just hoping I'm competitive enough..I have not taken hesi yet. I'm so excited!! It will be fun to go through this journey together and hopefully all get in!

Hey does anyone if Pathophysiology and Pharmacology, are taken while begin in the program or are they not required for graduation?

Hello Everyone,

I'm also applying for the Fall '15 session. I just took my Hesi yesterday and made a 96.5. My science GPA is a 4.0 so I am hopeful that I will be admitted.

Tip for the Hesi is read very carefully! I know I missed questions because I assumed what was being said instead of actually reading. Good luck!

Hey guys, I am also applying in February. I got an a in A&P I, b in A&P II, b in micro, a's in the co requisites, and after this spring I will have all the courses needed for bsn bridge except math. I take the hesi in February and am terrified because I took the teas twice (for weatherford) and it was so hard! Hope the hesi is easier like I have heard... Also, I dont know if anyone else has gone to an information session, but I was told the past couple application periods they have accepted about half the applicants and some alternates tend to get in.

Was there a lot of questions about physics and chem on the hesi?
