Hello everyone!

This is my first post on this forum so I'm not too familiar with how all this works but hopefully I'll be able to figure it out along the way.

Anyways,

I applied to the July application time for COHORT 45 in SD Nursing Program.

I wanted to know if anyone else has applied to this month.

If you don't mind, could you also share what your GPA and TEAS score as well?

I'm super, duper nervous.

My GPA is just mediocre at 3.55. I feel like this is probably a lot lower than the average that will be applying in July.

I also have yet to take the TEAS yet but I feel like I'm just not prepared.

Any suggestions on how to study for the TEAS besides the ATI V.5 study manual for TEAS? I feel like this in itself is not enough to prepare me for the test.

If you are already part of the nursing program or know the information, could you also tell me about when the assigned test date would be after the application deadline date?

Also, any suggestions and or tips on writing the essay?

Hello bluenyker,

I also applied to cohort 45. My GPA is 3.3, My TEAS score is 80.7, and I have not taken my essay yet. I plan on taking the TEAS again on the day offered by NU in hopes of scoring higher to improve my chances. I feel confident none the less. I purchased the ATI TEAS Manual Version V, and it was very helpful to me. I feel as though the material in the book is very similar to that on the test. I did not use any other resources to prepare for the TEAS.

Hi~~ Thank you for taking your time to reply!!

I just took my TEAS today and received an 84.7.

I am planning on retaking it in a week to improve my score as well.

I also only utilized the ATI V5 study book and was also told by many others that this was the best method for studying for the exam.

I hope to get into cohort 45 with you as well!! We can do this!!

Hey everyone,

I took my TEAS and wrote the proctored essay today, and I am mentally drained. A tip for the essay is to time yourself writing. I haven't had to write a timed essay in a long time so it was pretty nerve racking. I wish I would have taken the TEAS sooner because it was a long day doing both in one sitting. I am applying with a 4.0 GPA for math and science, and got a 90 on my TEAS. I studied using the ATI manual, and i feel like its really all you should need if you have taken all your pre-requisite courses. Good luck to everyone who applied. I got a 76 on the teas and have a 3.9 gpa.

Ok, so I retook the TEAS and got an 88.7...

I think I'm going to retake it one last time at NU to try and boost that up into the 90's...
