National University SD BSN Cohort 45

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello everyone!

This is my first post on this forum so I'm not too familiar with how all this works but hopefully I'll be able to figure it out along the way.

Anyways,

I applied to the July application time for COHORT 45 in SD Nursing Program.

I wanted to know if anyone else has applied to this month.

If you don't mind, could you also share what your GPA and TEAS score as well?

I'm super, duper nervous.

My GPA is just mediocre at 3.55. I feel like this is probably a lot lower than the average that will be applying in July.

I also have yet to take the TEAS yet but I feel like I'm just not prepared.

Any suggestions on how to study for the TEAS besides the ATI V.5 study manual for TEAS? I feel like this in itself is not enough to prepare me for the test.

If you are already part of the nursing program or know the information, could you also tell me about when the assigned test date would be after the application deadline date?

Also, any suggestions and or tips on writing the essay?

Thank you guys so much in advance!

Much responses and advice will be appreciated and are definitely needed.

When is the deadline to submit another Teas test? I didnt know I could take it again after they assigned a test date.

Yes I did the essay as well on the same day.

I think I did pretty decent.

I stayed on topic and answered all the questions in each paragraph... so I think I didn't do too bad? Only thing was that I couldn't make my conclusion as strong because of the lack of time...

How do you think you did??

I also retook my TEAS on that same day and improved my score again to 91.3.

Sigh... hopefully I didn't do bad on the essay so I actually have a chance of getting in.

I really hope to meet all of you guys in the program! Fingers crossed!!!

Hi Rckkrhea!

Unfortunately, no...

You can't take the TEAS again after your test date.

Good job bluenyker! That is an awesome score! You will definitely get in! I had emailed them and they told me there had to be no less than 60 days between tests which is fine with me. It will allow me time to study to retake. I only got 3 weeks to study before I took theTeas test. For some reason my counselor told me they would have me take it until october. Ugh. I really hope my gpa helps wven me out :(

Thank you, I really hope I do!! *fingers crossed*

Hm.. I'm not sure if I'm understanding what you are saying correctly.

If you applied in July, from what I know, the test date at NU is the last time you can attempt to take the TEAS.

So you are applying in October instead then?

No I applied in July but my counselor gave me false information and told me that I probably wouldnt test until end of September/October so I thought I would have more time to study and focused on doing well in the prereqs and didnt start studying until august. But I see now how to get in. If I dont get picked up this chohort I will just apply to the next one and take the test once or twice more until I get a higher score since National allows. Who did you take yours through? I went through the ati site and the test were like $91 each yikes!

From what I know, Rckkrhea, if you applied to the cohort for July, you can't apply again until April of 2016. You might want to make sure with the advisors in the nursing department though.

I took it at SDSU and NU through the ATI. You always will take it through the ATI.

Best of luck to all of us!!

The deadline to submit the TEAS score is the day that NU assigns. Most people who took the TEAS a second time, took it when NU assigned. If you take the TEAS after your assigned date, it won't count for the cohort you applied for.

SDSU charges $75 and NU charges $55.

Okay thank you ckmoore and bluenyker for the info. SDSU is much cheaper than going through ATI. Good luck too you both!

Do any of you guys have an idea of when we will be informed about our acceptance/rejection?

I've been so anxious...
