Georgetown University MSN-FNP January 2014 Part time Cohort

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi! I just received my acceptance to Georgetown's January 2014 part time cohort and was looking for others who will be starting then also. I am so excited to have this opportunity and can't wait to talk with others who will be on this journey too!

Specializes in Pediatrics.

I would encourage anyone interested in their online masters programs to contact the admission advisors. They are VERY helpful with the whole application process and are very straightforward yet encouraging. I am in my second semester of the part time FNP program and am very happy that with Nursing@Georgetown!

I am in the process of applying to the program now, and my advisor has been nothing but awesome. I'm a little worried about the cost and wished they had more scholarships for it available- 73K is pretty high!

Hey sunny_days! You probably have finished or are close to finishing by now! The school I went to for my BSN was quite disorganized and I was pretty frustrated with that. Can you tell me about the organization at GU? How do they prepare you for exams? Do you get any type of focused review?

Word of advice for anyone researching GU's online program.....look into all your options. Factor in cost, its very important. I don't mind telling you more over messaging but not on this public forum.

Just want an update about your experience with GU. I would kike to transfer to GU bec I am not satisfied with the Illinois University that I'm in right now. I only have 1yr left to become a FNP but I really want to be a GU graduate. The biggest factor is the cost. I feel that it is very risky for me to do thst with my financial status right now. Do you feel that it would really make a big differenc? Also, how heavy is the load if I want to do it full time?will they transfer some of my credits? Thanks for your reply!

So you didn't have any problems getting in without nursing experience? My big problem is that I have psych experience only. I'm still going to try. How is it so far?

Specializes in Oncology.

Davesbride (or any other current GTU students),

How has your experience been so far at GTU? I am applying for the part time FNP cohort for Fall 2015 and I would love to hear more about the program. Do you work while attending? How many hours per week do you spend studying/writing papers? I would love any insight you can give me about the program!

I am currently finishing my second semester at Georgetown. I am a neurology nurse at a fast paced hospital in the heart of DC. I can say that after discussing with some of my colleagues who are also working on their FNPs from other universities, Georgetown is by far more strenuous. You WILL leave Georgetown with the knowledge you need to be a safe and effective practitioner. Just be prepared to work. In my opinion, the school is worth every dime.
