  1. Hi SquishyRN, I whole-heartedly believe that GU looks at the whole picture, not just GPA (unlike a lot of other schools). That is one thing that really attracted me to the program. Have you spoken with an admissions counselor yet? They are amazing. You should call! I am still in contact with mine (her name is Faith), and she is incredibly helpful and supportive!! I say apply, what have you got to lose? Worse that can happen is you don't get in, and you're in no worse position than you are now. You just never know until you try, right? It took me forever to get my statement of purpose written and to put together my video essay, but everything else was pretty easy as far as the application.
  2. Hi SquishyRN! I was a bit worried about being competitive as well, but I knew I wanted to go to GU. It has been my goal for a few years. I actually do not have any nursing experience, however this is my second career. I will finish my BSN May 8th. I have a lot of leadership and communication experience and I think that helped a lot. I can't remember exactly what my GPA was but my cumulative was probably around 3.4 and my science was around 3.8. I got my first degree in 1997 and of course had no idea that I would change careers almost 20 years later!! What did you decide? Why are you concerned?
  3. Hi PA_RN87! Have you heard back? I think it was 20 days before I got the official e-mail.
  4. I am so sorry for the very late response! Yes, I did my welcome call a few weeks ago. I am so incredibly impressed by the support I have already received. I'm a little worried about the time commitment, but fortunately I am in a place where I don't have to work. I do have a daughter who just started kindergarten and we want to have another baby ASAP, so that concerns me. However, my BSN program was very intense (19 credit hours first semester!!) and I had to drive 110 miles everyday so this will be better. Overall, I'm pretty darn excited!!
  5. Hi RN2bNP! I thought I replied to this but apparently I didn't! Congratulations! What part of the country are you in? Wouldn't that be crazy if we lived near each other! I'm in Texas BTW :)
  6. RN2bNP, Have you heard back from GU? I also applied for the Fall 2015 part-time FNP program, and will graduate in May with my BSN. -Kayla95
  7. I am super excited because I just received my acceptance letter into GU's FNP program starting in Sep 2015!!!! Just hoping to connect with anyone who is in the application process or who has also been admitted!
  8. Is anyone on here starting in the September Cohort? I just received my acceptance letter today and am super excited!!
  9. Hey lovemykiddos! Congratulations!! Send me your e-mail address and I'll contact ya. And will see you in January!! I would PM but really don't know how :)
  10. Hi lapochitica! Did you get accepted? I am currently in the program and happy to answer any questions you may have.
  11. Hi Marykc22, Did you get accepted? I am currently in the program and happy to answer any questions you may have.
  12. Good luck to you :)
  13. Who all got accepted?? I'm in the class now :)
  14. Hey sunny_days! You probably have finished or are close to finishing by now! The school I went to for my BSN was quite disorganized and I was pretty frustrated with that. Can you tell me about the organization at GU? How do they prepare you for exams? Do you get any type of focused review?
