Hi! I just received my acceptance to Georgetown's January 2014 part time cohort and was looking for others who will be starting then also. I am so excited to have this opportunity and can't wait to talk with others who will be on this journey too!
Hi np2015!
I just did my welcome call with Student support advisor and loved it!! The 2GU platform is great! The thing that really sold me on Georgetown was the interactive classes. It allows the students to attend a top tier school with out having to relocate to DC. I have a 14 year old at home and I only work weekends so the online programs were a must for me as well. I researched schools for about a year before I applied to Georgetown and had decided that I wanted top quality academics. I look at the cost as an investment in my future and know that I will be the best FNP that I can be because of the education that I will receive. Best of Luck ! Keep us posted on your acceptance.
Hi Dave
Congratulations on your acceptance. I have also been accepted into the Jan 2014 FNP part-time cohort. I wasnt even that serious about applying but the counselor kept badgering me everyday till I got everything submitted on the last day literally, so imagine my shock at being admitted. Anyway, seems that was the easy part, everything else since then is a bit confusing. Maybe we can exchange notes.
Hi Mya888. There is a lot to do after you receive acceptance. I was accepted in October so I have had longer to get it all together. Have you done your welcome call with student support? If not they will explain and walk you through a lot of it. My experience has been nothing but positive. Anytime I have had a question or concern they have been johnny on the spot. They even call to check on things if she hasn't heard from me in a while. Let me know what instructors you are signed up for.
Hi! I just finished my MSN FNP program at Georgetown University this week. I never regret paying 73k for the education amd training I got. It is a very rigorous program which they run, and we started around 128 students and we are approximately 55 students left (including CNM). I received 4 job offers prior to my last term. Reason being was that Georgetown, they say, is very reputable with high standards. They added that the students they met from Georgetown showed exceptional aptitude both in clinical and knowledge base.
Just ponder on your options but i assure you that you will be a proud Hoya after you finish your MSN-FNP.

brence30, were you fulltime or part-time in the program. Did you work, and if you did, did you work in the hospital? Am full-time at GU (just started) and the work load is heavy. I want to quit my hospital job and try home care. The hospital job totally wears me out. I don't even get a chance to take a break in between taking care of 7 pts.

Gabrielledek,
I highly doubt it's your GPA. There is no way they would say 3.0 is a minimum and deny you for meeting the requirement. I could be wrong but to me it feels like you should be applying to acute care np program. FNPs tend to work in primary care settings and cardiology doesn't sound like one of them. All the best.
