George Washington ABSN Fall 2016

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi! I've applied for Fall 2016 ABSN at GWU. I participated in the info session this morning and am really amped about the program!

I submitted my application for the priority deadline on 11/5. I got an email from GWU saying my application had been referred to the admissions committee on 11/6, and that it was under preliminary review. The info session leader mentioned that admissions happen in rounds every 3 weeks, I suppose he meant that acceptance letters are sent out in those intervals.

Anyone else in the same boat? Has anyone heard back? The anticipation is killing me!!!

Hello I just applied as well! I submitted my application on 11/14 but haven't heard anything back! Best of luck

Hi! I submitted my application through nursing cas on 10/07 and just heard this week that I was accepted! Hope you both hear back soon!

Congrats on the acceptance! Is this your first choice? Would you mind sharing your stats?

Thanks! Since it's the first school I've heard back from, I'm not sure yet if I'll accept, but GW is definitely one of my top picks! I am hoping to get to D.C. soon to see the campus. I had a 3.76 gpa, with a 4.0 in prerecs. My bachelors and Masters degrees were both in music performance. Hope you hear soon!!

I submitted my application in early October and heard my decision on Nov. 5! I got accepted and since GW is my first choice I decided to go ahead and accept the offer!

Congratulations to everyone who's gotten in! I submitted my application 11/5 and heard back on 11/19 that I was accepted! I was very excited, but also unsure about whether to say yes. GW is requiring my response by December 5, along with the non-refundable deposit, but I am anticipating admissions decisions from other schools in February and March. I really want to wait for these decisions! But I also really want to go with a sure thing at a program as great as GW!

For those of you in the same boat, I spoke with the admissions advisor at GW, and she said that normally there isn't a way to extend a response deadline. But because I applied to the W2 program, they will not need my decision until a week after my W2 interview. I RSVP'd for the February 6 interview date, hoping that I understood what the advisor was telling me! I remember reading that you hear back whether you've been accepted to W2 a week after your interview, so I assume they are giving me a chance to base my admissions decision on whether I get into W2.

Best of luck to everyone still waiting for a response.

And for those interested in my stats as an applicant:

I have a BS in Industrial Engineering with a pretty low GPA, 3.08 - I graduated in 2008. My prereq GPA is 4.0. So I can only assume they put emphasis on prereq GPAs when making their decision! I still have Microbiology and Lifespan Psychology in progress this semester, and I will have to take Ethics and Nutrition this spring.

I have no direct health care experience outside of volunteering at a Planned Parenthood the last 6 months. My role there is to support patients - I am in the surgical room assisting nurses and doctors, but only indirectly as I'm not a medical assistant.

Also shortly after I got accepted I signed up for the Washington Squared interview and I found out that I was selected for the program earlier this week! I interviewed on a Saturday and found out the following Tuesday! Good luck to everyone else interviewing for Washington squared!

I had submitted my application on 11/14, but it wasn't verified and submitted to the school/admission council until yesterday. I had no idea that NursingCAS took that long to do everything. I am hoping to hear back soon since you all heard back in short waiting times! Congratulations to the rest of you that have heard back!

Hey guys! I just found out I was accepted as well! How did you sign up for an interview for the W2 program? Congrats to those who have already been accepted!

I got a separate email about a week later inviting me to the w2 interview. It included two dates to choose from.
