Hi! I've applied for Fall 2016 ABSN at GWU. I participated in the info session this morning and am really amped about the program!
I submitted my application for the priority deadline on 11/5. I got an email from GWU saying my application had been referred to the admissions committee on 11/6, and that it was under preliminary review. The info session leader mentioned that admissions happen in rounds every 3 weeks, I suppose he meant that acceptance letters are sent out in those intervals.
Anyone else in the same boat? Has anyone heard back? The anticipation is killing me!!!
Sadly, no. You have to fly out to DC to interview and submit an essay to be considered for W2.
The advantage to RSVPing to a W2 interview is that your response and tuition deposit deadline is extended - they don't expect these things from you until you've heard whether you're accepted to W2. (You find out whether you've been accepted to W2 exactly a week after your interview.)

Does anyone know how many the take? Will a later interview lower our chances of being accepted?

How did you get your deadline extended? They said they could only extend mine by a week
I returned my Declaration of Intent before the first deadline they sent me. I said "YES", but I did not include the tuition deposit.
I found out that I could get the deadline extended to after the W2 Interview date only after pushing a little bit during a phone conversation with GW Admissions... I got the impression they want our deposits ASAP. The admissions officer I spoke to did make it seem like everyone would get this extension once they RSVP'd for a W2 interview.
After I sent my RSVP for date in February, I received a new email from the Office of Admissions that confirmed my Declaration of Intent had been processed, and that my deposit would be due a week after the W2 interview date. Hopefully this clarifies things ...
Hi all,
I just found out I got into the program! Stats: 4.19 undergrad (international studies); 3.95 grad (international development); 4.0 prereqs.
I was also applying to a few other schools (e.g. direct entry MSN at JHU and Georgetown), but I may not finish the applications. GWU is top choice! Have others applied elsewhere?
Looking forward to meeting some of you next year!
Hi jesslitz94!
I am applying to the Washington Squared program as well. I was wondering if you could share some insight into what to expect? From the email, I got the impression that the interview lasts the whole day. Is this correct? Is it more of a "job" or "school" interview?
Thanks so much, and I look forward to meeting you in the next year!
Also shortly after I got accepted I signed up for the Washington Squared interview and I found out that I was selected for the program earlier this week! I interviewed on a Saturday and found out the following Tuesday! Good luck to everyone else interviewing for Washington squared!
