Nursing Students School Programs

Hello everyone, I noticed there was not a thread for FIUs Generic BSN program for Fall 2018. Lets all share our stats and experiences with our application process! :)

Hey! I'm also applying to FIU. My overall GPA is a 3.65 and my prereq GPA on the panther degree audit is 3.73. For the teas my overall was a 94%. As for volunteer hours I have about 240.

Hey guys! MDC student applying to FIU as well! I just took the TEAS today. My overall score was 82% with a 91% on the science portion. My culmulative GPA is a 3.73 (should be ending the semester with a 3.8) and my science GPA is a 4.0. I worked in the healthcare field for 2 years.

Great stats! Congrats on your TEAS score! I bit off all of my nails for the duration of the test! Lol

Hey I just took the TEAS for the first time and scored a 78.7%. My lowest scores were in the science and English. How did you guys study and do so well on those? Thank you in advance for the help!

@milenia thanks! And they're gunna like all the experience that you have in healthcare for sure

@heyhihellonatalie i used this book on amazon called ATI teas secrets. Luckily I took anatomy and bio the semester before taking the exam so that information was relatively fresh. For English pay good attention to clauses and punctuation usage when you study .

The practice exams in the book were pretty close to the actual exam

Thanks Jaay! I used the same book as Jaay, as well as the pocket prep app for $15. With pocket prep you can customize tests for the areas you need work on. Also, I purchased a practice test on the ATI website. There are so many resources! Crash Course on YouTube is also great for a quick review.

I submitted my application today!!!

Hey Guys! I graduating from the BSN program next month. Those are some great stats that you guys have. I am pretty sure you will get in. If anyone needs anything, don't hesitate to reach out. I will do my best to assist.

Hey there, how is the program? What was your schedule like? Do they give you options as far as what days you select?

Hey Guys! I graduating from the BSN program next month. Those are some great stats that you guys have. I am pretty sure you will get in. If anyone needs anything, don't hesitate to reach out. I will do my best to assist.

I just graduated last Monday, April 31st. The program is great. I have looked at many programs before choosing FIU and I was not disappointed. You will get all the help you need, just remember to seek help when you need it.

Each semester you will have a different schedule. (I don't know if this will change) At the start of the semester you will be given the chance to choose which section you want to be in, section 1 or 2. You will have to choose quickly because if there are no more space in one section you will be automatically placed in the other. Section 1 had the morning classes, like 7 am or 8 am class, three times a week; section 2 had evening classes (12pm or 4 pm classes, something like that). You only get to choose the section depending on what time of day you want to attend class, not the days you want to go, class schedule and clinical days are set.

The first semester you will have clinicals also. Basically, you will be on campus a lot the first semester. We had fundamentals, Pathophysiology, Health Assessment and clinical. The following semesters you will be on campus less, because you will have online classes like Community health, research etc. The schedule was pretty consistent for the 2 sections throughout the program.

I hope that answered your question.
