Hello there! Just wanted to see if there was anyone that had applied to Molloy College's Dual Degree program for the fall 2017 and what their current status is? I have applied, submitted my transcripts, and took both placement tests last week.

When did you apply?

I applied March 2nd and got a letter on March 6th saying they have my transcripts and I will be notified of the testing schedule for math/reading at a later date.

Is this a good sign?

Otherwise I haven't heard anything, sorry.

Hi @Gubba I applied mid February. I just got my acceptance letter yesterday.

Congrats!

What is the process for being accepted?

I applied on 3/2 and met with someone from admissions a couple days after. I received a letter on 3/6 that they received all my official transcripts and that I "will be notified of Math/Reading testing schedule at a later date."

And how were you notified of your acceptance? Through mail/phone/online?

@Gubba I applied about mid-feb. I received a letter in the mail yesterday. I had called last week being curious about my status and the woman told me that a decision had been made on 3/22 and that my letter was sent. I asked if she knew what the decision was but she said I had to wait for the actual letter. On the letter it said I needed to take ENG 101 again even though I already have it because I scored a 13.8 on their English placement exam when you need a 14 to pass. It also said I had to schedule an appointment with the financial aid office asap to go over my loan options to cover the tuition. And it said to pay a non-refundable deposit of $400 to save myself a seat in the nursing program. My appointment with financial aid is tomorrow morning.

Did you first get the letter saying you will "will be notified of Math/Reading testing schedule at a later date." and then get another letter saying to come in for the test? I'm wondering if this is a good sign.

How long after taking the test did you get accepted?

Sorry to be annoying :nailbiting:

Lol don't apologize, you're not being annoying! And yes I got that same exact letter saying they were going to let me know when the tests were. Then I got another letter with the dates for them. I took them on March 13th and they made a decision about 10 days later which is a pretty good turn around. You can PM me if you have anymore questions, plus it would be nice to start getting to know who I will be in the program with! (Don't worry you'll get in!!!)

I was going to PM you but can't because it says I need 15 posts or something.

What were your stats? I have 3.3 GPA, have a lot of good volunteer and paid health care experience, and wrote a nice letter that went along with my application.

Did you send any letters of rec/meet with anybody from admissions after applying or anything else?

I met with them right after applying and they said everything looked good...

Hi guys. I applied for the program in February and just received my acceptance letter in the mail today. Does anyone know for sure the length of the dual degree program because I've read it's 2.5 years but for some reason I thought it was shorter. Thanks guys!

Have you taken all of the pre-reqs? In addition to AP 1 and 2, microbe etc. you also need a biochemist/orgo intro class that only a few schools offer....I believe if you have EVERYTHING completed it is a 2 yr program, if not you have to complete them before moving onto nursing classes.

And how long after you applied did they ask you to take the reading and math test?

Hi guys. I have a 3.3 GPA just like you @Gubba so I'm sure you'll be okay and get in. I actually just met with financial aid and its going to cost me a pretty penny. It sucks because since we already completed our Bachelors we really don't get any aid anymore so we're looking at paying full price for the tuition. But hey, anything for the dream right? And yes it's 2 years if you completed all your pre-reqs if not then you're looking at 2.5-3 years. I have all mine except for organic and nutrition and now I have to take ENG 101 like I mentioned before, but I believe I'll also be taking NUR 129 and NUR139 as well this fall so it only sets me back a tiny bit. I paid my $400 deposit today and handed in the stamped confirmation to admissions. The woman told me now I just have to wait for a letter with an appt date and time to come in to register for my first semester with a counselor. I also printed out my health forms to get a head start on that.
