Cal State San Marcos ABSN Fall 2018

Nursing Students School Programs

Hey everyone! I applied to this upcoming cycle about a month ago but I know the deadline just passed. who else applied? I believe we should hear back sometime in late March with official evaluations etc. I signed up for the info session next month as well. good luck!

They should send it automatically. I went to an info meeting in the Fall of 2017, and at that time since they weren't near the deadline, my evaluation only took about a week. When I finished my application last month, all they had to do was update it with my last two courses I completed, so they just did the evaluation right now. So I'm sure since it was close to the deadline, they have a lot of applications to go through.

oh dang and here I was thinking Jan was still pretty early relative to the deadline haha but it's all good, I feel like it'd be pointless to check up for my eval now since @ultralightbeam said acceptances should be coming out by some time next week

Yeah, if people can post if and when they hear back about being accepted, that'd be great...from my memory from the info meeting, they'll only contact you if you're accepted and they won't tell you if you're denied/not accepted.

I finished my application on the deadline March 16... did anyone else?

Hi guys!! I just have a question and looked for the latest thread for CSUSM ABSN program. For their last 60 unit completed, does your pre-nursing core count towards that or that's the last 60 unit completed from your Bachelor's without the pre-nursing c??

It's the last 60 units you've taken, regardless of what they were for. So for example, my last 60 GPA was calculated to include part of my bachelors degree program, all of my prerequisite courses I had taken for nursing school, and some graduate level courses I had taken between my undergrad and my prerequisites. Hope that helps.

That makes sense. Thank you!!!

So sounds like we may hear decisions as early as this week. If not, hopefully we all get our evaluations!!

My advisor just told me on Friday it would be 2-3 weeks before they start admitting students. But I guess we'll see.

How many of you guys are planning to work either part time or full time while in this program?

I just received my evaluation today! (i turned it in late Jan)

I actually hope this is true. I received my evaluation maybe a week ago but it was incomplete because I didn't know I had to send in official AP scores for my writing requirement. It may take time for AP services to send my AP scores to CSUSM and then CSUSM processing it. So the longer CSUSM pushes back their first wave of acceptances, the more time it gives for my evaluation to be officially complete. Sorry if this sounds selfish since I know we all want to know our admission fates asap. But it does seem like not *a lot* of people on here have received their evaluations yet. So your advisor may be right.

@mlediaa I am planning to work part time, probably 2 days a week in a restaurant just to keep my loans to a minimum.
