Cal State San Marcos ABSN Fall 2018

Published

Hey everyone! I applied to this upcoming cycle about a month ago but I know the deadline just passed. who else applied? I believe we should hear back sometime in late March with official evaluations etc. I signed up for the info session next month as well. good luck!

Hi guys,

I have 31 points and don't know if 31 is competitive or not.. but hopefully, I can get in!

has everyone received their evaluation scores? I completed my application last Feb 28, 2 weeks before the priority deadline and I have yet to receive mine..

It sounds like they're probably still finishing up the last of the evaluations this week.

Hi everyone! I am applying for the Spring term but was wondering what the evaluation is based on and how their point system works? (:

I just got my evaluation yesterday.

It's all listed on their website.

@isabella_cabrera Look at the link he provided above for point distribution then the link below regarding the pre nursing core. it is best if you have all of the pre nursing core classes complete when applying, it will help you significantly. I thought you actually had to have them all done when applying, but I don't see that formally stated. Also keep in mind the undergrad gpa is technically the last 60 credit hours INCLUDING your prerequisite grades. This can significantly help a poor undergrad gpa (which is the case with me). good luck!

CSUSM

Is anyone between programs?

I was accepted to two ADN programs recently and waiting to hear back from this one but I am torn if I should go with csusm or go the cheaper route with the ADN and RN-BSN later. I know that csusm said that their graduates usually have jobs lined up for them by the time they graduate but I'm worried about the financial portion since I already have loans from my undergrad at a UC. Any advice would be appreciated :/

CSUSM This link should help. You can click on Admissions Statistics to see the points for the previous Spring cohort.

Have those of you still waiting for evaluations received them yet? My advisor told me on Monday that they should be sending out the first wave of acceptances by the end of this week.

Also, is anyone transferring in nutrition? My understanding is if you transfer it in, you won't have to take it through CSUSM, which is normally one of the three classes taken during first semester.

It really depends on your comfort level of taking out more loans. I had a friend turn down CSUSM because he couldn't afford to take out more loans. When you factor the tuition + living costs it gets quite expensive. I can share more details with you, just PM me.

Another thing we all should be doing is checking our student center status. Previous cycles forums have said that they update that first before sending out all the emails, I'm getting really excited!

Also, if anyone has any other questions they want answered, I'm going to the info session Friday so I can ask!
