Bellarmine University Accelerated Nursing 2017

Please check out my recent posts on another Bellarmine Accelerated BSN thread. If you have any additional questions, let me know. Do a lot of research and only go to this school/program if it is your only option. You will learn, but the education quality is no better than most of the other nursing schools in the area, their tuition is the highest in the area, and their failure rate is extremely high (probably the highest in the state of Kentucky). I am currently in the May 2016 class set to graduate in May 2017, and we have lost over 50% of the people we started out with (and no, these people were not lazy and will be amazing nurses... they worked their butts off and did everything they could and still failed). Several faculty members pride themselves in weeding people out and most of them will turn their backs on struggling students. Most of us remaining in the program are extremely unhappy and wish we went elsewhere.

I've heard a lot of bad things but I've also heard some good things as well. Most of the people that I've talked to that went through this program said that it is do-able. Every accelerated nursing program you go into is going to be super super hard. It's 4 years of nursing crammed into 1 year. Since Bellarmine accepts majority of the people that apply, the weeding out process starts in the courses early... Especially for individuals that are not out of the party mode yet and especially for the ones that don't fully commit. I know some of the professors are going to be tough just like everywhere else and that some courses are known for weeding out people but I wouldn't completely forget about going here. I've talked to people that graduated there, nurses in hospitals in Louisville and professors and they said that Bellarmine is the place to go mainly because most of the hospitals like seeing Bellarmine Accelerated Nursing grads and you'll get jobs that you want right out of graduation.

Since you're still there currently, how do you study and such? What are the exams like? And what was the first week of classes like in May?

Hi, I have been conditionally accepted in Bellarmine. I cant wait to start but this stuff is scaring me. I don't want to spend about $67000 and fail.

Same. I'm really nervous as well. I'm moving back home so I won't have to worry about anything else other than going to school. My mom is a nurse along with my brother but even with that I'm nervous that it's going to be too hard. Maybe they'll clear some things up during orientation on the 1st? Idk

Since you said, you are going back home, does that mean your mom is nurse in the state? Maybe she can ask around about the program and rumors? I am being positive that we will make it through. I am ready work as hard as it takes and I will be moving for the program too.

Current Bellarmine accelerated student here. What is the hardest you ever studied? Study three times as hard. It is fast. One bad test, and you are behind the 8 ball. Every class is a priority.

Plan to stay in Louisville for a year or two after graduating, because Bellarmine has a stellar reputation here. Literally everyone in my section is working critical care somewhere in Louisville. You can take that experience anywhere in the country after two years here in Louisville.

Hello are you still at Bellarmine university?? How is the program coming along? I was conditionally accepted but I would like to know how it's fairing with you.
