Statistics outside OU?

Anyone know of any short classes outside OU that do NOT require algebra to take it? OU told me I could take stats concurrently with Evidence, but apparentely that is not true. But due to not being able to get into Student Center to register until yesterday, then it telling me I couldn't for requisites not met, and the nursing office not responding to my email, stats is now full, and I am screwed. This will push my graduation date back months, and cause me to miss the start of the once a year start NP program I am applying to.

Issue with that is, since I live in NY, there are no "approved" psych NP programs I can take besides this one, unless I do DNP and pay more than double an hour. So some how, I need to figure out how to be done by May.

So any ideas? Sorry for the vent, I am really upset with this school right now.

I looked into Rio - but you have to have taken college algebra within the last 5 (or 10) years. Someone will correct me. There is NO algebra pre-req for stats at OU.

You are correct that OU requires NO algebra or math prerequisite. The last math class I took was in high school back in the 70s. My diploma program required pharmacology through the school of nursing which included math and drug calculations, but it was not a math class. It was also in the 70s. The actual math used in stats is not complex.

I actually LOVED stats at OU. Well organized and the prof that I had posted videos explaining each and every step of the process. Best class I took at OU!!

Midterm and final are proctored - I made arrangements to take them at the local CC.

The stats that I took was Elementary Statistical Reasoning, with Professor K.

She is the prof in rninme's post I think.

There are 2 proctored exams. Not that difficult......you have to prepare, and practice the problems. Exams are open book and open note. If you take good notes and write out the steps in a way that makes sense to you, it is not too hard. I took my exams at my hospital library for free.

Take good notes if you need to - I printed off the practice examples and explanations and worked them out. Also printed out the module assignments and worked those out also. Tabbed them - mod 1, mod 2, etc. I also tabbed sections of the books. Dr K lets you know how many points will be from each module on the midterm and on the final. Great class - and I HATE math!! The discussion board for each module is also a life saver. If you can't figure something out - ask your classmates. And the videos rocked!!
