Anyone else taking Assessment for Fall third session?

Suggestions from anyone who has taken it already?

No clue how we are supposed to reference a personal interview health assessment. Struggling!!!!

Check the APA book about personal interview... I used that in my culture and diversity class.

I asked on the Q&A board, because I don't understand this. What are we supposed to be referencing, like articles on what? There is nothing in the instructions indicating what to reference.[/quote

It's not clear, but I think DidiRN is right on.

It would be like referring to a dictionary or the bible...no need to reference it.

Hope this explains.

You know, in other papers, I did cite a dictionary. And no mention from that TA that I shouldn't. One time I wrote in a paper something like... there is a common saying that says blah, blah ,blah... and my TA took off because I didn't cite the common saying. It was something I grew up hearing, I couldn't have found a reference for it if my life depended on it.

I think the TA's need a play book and need to apply things uniformly.

This was the response I got about APA formatting for the assessment assignment, and using references. Didn't answer my question at all. I asked what we were supposed to reference, as we are not using any articles. My point is, I didn't use any references. I guess I will just reference the book with no in text citations. Did anyone else use citations somehow? Why is it so hard to just give a clear answer?

my advice to you would be to follow the example of the health assessment found in week one's assignment directions. Regarding the references...you should cite and list any references that you used for this assignment. Your textbook should be included as a reference

I referenced the textbook but had not in text citations. I'm going to leave it at that. I'm done. Will submit tomorrow during my lunch break.

OMG I just looked at week two.. I think it is worse than week 1...

And I am still not clear about these case studies. Do we have to buy the course? The paper included in the week two How to for viewing videos says we can access FREE stuff from the web site.

But then it says select physical assessment and then choose assigned case studies. When I looked at the free case studies it doesn't have any physical assessment piece. I am really confused. Help anyone?

You have to buy the case studies. The free resources come from registering for the free resources pertaining to the Jarvis book in the Elsevier site.

The case studies you buy following the instructions they posted in the announcements. They are $36 and after you buy them there will be several categories. You have to click on the physical assessment category and the corresponding case studies will be there.

OK so I am in the evolve website. I have my user name and password. What do I click on? I just don't see anything about case studies for $36 dollars. Is it the HESI site? I'm not dumb, but I just don't know what to click on.

Click on enroll in a course...should be on the left side...then put in the code they gave you in the announcements.

Thank you! Why couldn't I figure that out? when I went to the web site, I looked for the title of the book and it just took me to the Register for free resources or buy the course. I didn't see "enroll in a course" in the directions.

any way I'm going to cancel the other thing I registered for. I'm not made of money...

No problem I'm glad I could help.

Ok so how is everyone handling the reference page for the Healthy People Assignment?

Are you just putting the citations on the reference page along with your other referenced material?

Are you explaining what these articles are for?

I am so confused about all these stupid APA rules. The assignments are simple, it's just this darn APA that has me batty.
