Anyone done any of the online Chem classes? I need to squeeze this in somewhere. I'm thinking Oregon State. I was going to do Rio Salado, but the reviews suck. Oregon has pretty good reviews, although it's expensive. Just over $1000 for the class it looks like.

They do 10 week classes I guess.

check Edukan.com - community college system in Kansas. Good reviews, tuition isn't excessive. Think it is a 15 week class - may have some shorter sessions also.

I think Oregon is $240 a credit hour and the class is 5 credits. I am either doing this or UofP which is also expensive. I have an email out to Oregon regarding the class. I'm looking for quick and no math prerequisite. Oregon is on quarters. UofP has 2 choices, both less than 10 weeks.

I am taking a 5 credit microbiology course at Edukan right now. Your transcript comes from a regionally accredited college in kansas. I think I paid $765 total for the class as it has a virtual lab with it which you have to pay a $115 resourse fee. i like it,trying to keep ahead of the game and would say check them out!

Totally forgot about Edukan. Even a couple hundred cheaper saves! I'll check them out. My hospital just partnered with Phoenix, I'll have to find how much of a discount we get.

check clovis community college. They offer lots of science classes with lab, accredited like 80 bucks for the whole class. i used them for a&p 1 and 2. Classes transfer fine.

Chem is 16 weeks, it's like $650, plus if there is the $150 fee, not sure.

They are a lot cheaper. Still a Jan-May class, which sucks, since I'll be doing Stats along with another class, I'm not sure I can add chem into it. I may have to suck it up, pick up some shifts, and pay for a shorter, more expensive class, lol.

Just a question: How do they handle labs in an on-line chem (or bio or A&P for that matter)? The lab was always one of the key elements in ensuring that course was acceptable for transfer credit for the nursing program, so I'm guessing it's still important.

I've completed Chemistry, Microbio., and Pathophysiology all online through Colorado Community Colleges Online. The classes required the additional expense of a lab kit, usually through labpaq.com. I did well in all the online classes and transfer credit was never questioned. The class is credited just like any other online/on campus class.
