From looking at the classes starting in fall, I'm guessing that Evidence Based nursing is replacing Research? Anyone have any idea if stats is still required prior to taking this, as it was with Research?

I spent hours and hours reading and note taking and it didn't help me any so don't feel bad!
Amen to that. I've spent more time on this course than any thus far. And this week appears to be the worst. Looked ahead at week 5 (couldn't resist), looks like a reprieve from all of this! Hang on guys.

If it helps anyone out there that has not taken Strategic Planning. It was probably the most low key class. Very direct and to the point. Minimal work and I do not think there were any DB other than the introduction. So my point is if you need to take two classes at once, take one of them with Strategic Planning. Hope this helps. Excellence is very doable. Boring....know medicaid and medicare!!!! I thought this would be the hardest class with the most work. Compared to Research I was way off. Best Wishes to all!!

Three weeks into this class and I just found this "discussion board." Much more interesting than the one for class! It helps to know that there are other people in the same boat!
Glad you found us! Welcome!!
Thanks for the reassurance. Strategic Planning and Leadership are now combined so who knows what it will be like. I seriously doubt anything could top this class for "worst NRSE course in the curriculum." I don't mean to be so negative but that just sums it up.
Strategic Planning is now included with Management - and I think they are calling it Leadership?. SP was easy but Management was a lot of busy work - remember those case studies?? Hopefully the combo won't be too bad.
LOL - it is all a matter of perspective! I hated community - and don't hate this class nearly as much as I did it!
Oh, you're right...got that combo wrong. I'm anxious to get through the semester but I will surely miss the break we used to have between classes.
Haha! Everyone has their own perspective. At least with community there was room for fluff. Not so in this course, lol!

I thought Community was just busy...and agree...adding fluff made it quite doable and an easy A. This class...the information in the textbook is clear as mud and they grade it like an exact science with those quizzes. However, it is not easy to digest this material the way it is presented. But, I have not spent a lot of time studying or fretting about this class...so it doesn't bother me. I am really just glossing over the material because striving for an A is no longer a goal for me. Hopefully it does not bite me in the end. I will be very happy with a B. I have already figured out to the exact point what I can miss on the next two quizzes and DB posts. So, I am shooting for that!

Geeze, and didn't the announcement say something about this class getting "better?" Week 4 requires FIVE chapters and week 5 requires TWO....what is wrong with this picture? Two more weeks to go Do Dah Do Dah!!
Oh, and working 40 hours to that equation, too! LOL
Yes, did they forget that? Geeze!!!!!!!!!!
