Tri-C (Cuyahoga Community College) Fall 2013 Nursing Students for

U.S.A. Ohio

Published

I start the Nursing Program Fall 2013 at Tri-C. I just wanted to see if I could connect with anyone who will be going in too. I am currently finishing up my psych, A&PII this semester and then will be taking microbiology in the summer. That way I will be all set and only have to focus on the nursing classes!

:)

I am so glad for you. Atleast someone is progressing in the right direction. Congratulations on your acceptance!! :yeah:

I took the Hesi A2 Test Jan 21st and already had my background done back in Dec 2012. I called the department but haven't heard anything back since then. I just checked the website and it seems like Fall 2013 is showing closed. I am so sad. It looks like I all my hard work is for nothing. I was soo hopeing to get in for fall. I wonder if its too late or Do you think I still have hope?

I am currently taking Eng 1020, Psy 2020 and A & P 1. I am planning on taking Micro during the summer that way I basically have only Clinicals to do.

How long did it take after your Hesi A2 Exam before you got admitted?

Fall 2013 still has openings in the modified evening/weekend programs at Eastern campus and Metro campus. If you wanted a different campus or the day program, once you get in, you should let them know what you'd prefer. Students drop out all the time before starting school, so a place may become available.

I took my HESI A2 Exam the end of August, had my background check done early september. And I think i had my acceptance by the end of september early october. At that time I was enrolled in AP1.

I agree with associatedegree, people may change their minds so spots may open for Fall Days. I thought I saw Metro still had spots. But I could be wrong. Make sure you use the email for the nursing dept they will not return phone calls! They only respond to that email, and if you can use your Tri-C email account to email them as well.

Good Luck!! :)

Thank you all for all the replies. Those were very helpful. I have been so busy with so much course work that I have not visited this site lately.

I just received my acceptance letter for Fall 2013 for the Metro eve/wkend program. Swilmink, I hope you got your application since your last post and you got good news too. I'm taking A&P 1 and Micro right now and will just have to take A&P 2 in the summer and I will only have the nursing courses to take. Congratulations on getting one step closer to our ultimate goals!

hello ladies. i got accepted for my second choice for spring 2014. i am still hoping and praying for my first choice for fall 2013. after spring all i will still have left is anatomy and physiology2 and micro. i am very excited.

I'll be in the evening/weekend section at metro, too. Does anyone have any clue what the hours will be?

For the modified evening/weekend program, lecture usually begins at 1700. For clinicals, you could begin anywhere from 1500 to 1700 during a weekday, but you could also begin at 0700 on a weekend.

Awesome. Thanks for the info. When I type NURS 1300 into the bookstore web site to see what books they needed this semester for it, it brought up like 2500 bucks worth of stuff. Is that accurate?

You are a long way off from starting the program. Do not buy any books yet, because faculty may change what books they require and textbook editions change, too. $2500 is not accurate. Once you attend orientation, you will be able to access the ADN Groups site, an internal message board for the nursing program. Ask current students what books you really need (even though faculty state that some books are "required," students will tell you that they never used them), if there are electronic versions of the book (some students prefer those), and if an older edition of a textbook will suffice. The Tri-C bookstore, like all college bookstores, charges way too much for books you can buy on Amazon.com or other online sites. Students use places like Half-Price Books, too. You can also consider renting books from places like Chegg.com or borrowing books from Ohio Link (a textbook source you access through the library; they have only a few copies of any book and you should attempt to borrow them early).

I agree, I get alot of my books from Ohio Link and I just keep renewing. I also bought books from other students and if you are getting older editions you don't need to spend too much. I didn't have much money so I went the cheapest route possible and even with older editions I managed A's and B's in all of my classes. The book list from the bookstore website is outrageous and you really need to wait for your syllabus to be posted so you are positive what books are required. It seems the bookstore and the nursing dept do NOT work together and people have wasted lots of mula!
