FORTIS college columbus ohio?

U.S.A. Ohio

Published

hello i was just wondering if anyone has heard about this school or went to it and could tell me a little more about it?

the website doesn't give out much info. but they do have LPN up to BSN.

Specializes in LTC/Sub Acute Rehab.

Either way, fortis is not a reputable school. They've gone through multiple name changes in the last 10 years because they kept getting in trouble; they were reprimanded just in 2011 for having an RN teaching RN coursework (requires an MSN).

Just in the time I got my ADN at a different school, they were RETS, Bohecker, and then Fortis. A school doesn't change their name repeatedly for good reason. Last I checked, they were still in provisional status in the state and many others.

Thanks delilahs.....i think?? ......

I'm proud of you too! Brown eye!!.....My sister is a CNP and when she was doing her "BSN" because her job went "MAGNET" She stated she didn't learn nothing more than what she already knew from her ADN Program!! All she did was write papers!!! She too thought it was a waste of money and time!!!!

Let me tell Fortis has came a long way! Full status on the board of nursing website, been that way since last year might I add!! They are partnered with Ohio Health! I am in there ADN program. You can transfer out your credits to further your education with schools they have articulation agreements with. Which there are several including Chamberlain. They are currently working on the nlnac. I think thats the abbreviation. Three of my friends just graduated with there ADN passed nclex and enrolled to get there BSN! Let me tell ya totally different school, from when visited when it was bohecker! So before people want to put their two cents in do your research before you assume, or get your information from your friends mothers brothers sister! I have had no problems at Fortis.

i didnt have any problems with fortis college either to be honest. none with financial aide none with the curriculum, the only thing i hated was having to go into the simulation lab. but it was a great learning experience. i also had some awesome instructors. is there some things i think could have changed? yes. but other than that it was a pretty good program for me. i finished nov 25 2013 and i dont regret my decision to attend. i learned a lot.

I believe Columbus has a surplus of nurses probably due to all of the nursing schools there... youll have no problem getting a job graduating from fortis and they do have a BSN program something cscc and cotc do not have!!
