U.S.A. Ohio

I was wondering if anyone here works at morrow county hospital in Mt. Gilead, ohio? My husband and I are looking to relocate north after I graduate in the spring. I was wanting to know if they hire new grads, pay rates, and all that info! Thanks to anyone who can help me!

I don't work there but a friend of mine just started there. Not sure what she makes but I know it is pretty good.

I am the Director of Pharmacy at Morrow County Hospital so I can help you if you are still interested. I hope I don't get kicked off this site for being a pharmacist. I don't know pay rates, etc., but I can probably find out. What I can tell you is that we are a Critical Access Hospital with only 15 beds in Acute Care and 38 beds in our ECF. It is a good place to work, not much drama and excitement. We don't keep critically ill or injured patients. The atmosphere is friendly, and I actually enjoy going to work. My job, however, is not the same as a nurses. I do work very closely with the nursing staff as they are only about 10 steps away from my office. Please let me know if you are still looking to come this way, and I will do what I can to help.

Hi amyy! Would you happen to know that starting pay for a new grad RN and if they offer a shift differential? Also, do you live in the area there or do you commute? We are trying to figure out how/when/where we are going to move we were wanting to rent for a while-perhaps sunbury area. Thanks!:D

I'd love to get into Morrow County (I live nearby), but I've heard it's really hard to get in! Low turnover, etc.

Hi, I am a nurse at Morrow Co. Hospital. Positions come available every now and then, usually night shift. I have worked there for a few months and I was hired as a new grad. I am the only new grad on the floor right now. Starting pay is several dollars less an hour than other local hospitals (30-45 minutes away). It was worth it to me, because of the work environment. I love the people I work with. The nurses are great and so are the rest of the staff. It is very different than a larger facility- everyone gets to know everyone. I enjoy the fact that I see many different types of patients: Medical, Surgical, Telemetry, Peds. Every day is different. We don't keep very critical patients- but that is okay with me, I don't have any intention on being an ICU nurse in the future. The best advice I could give you is to keep watching the hospital website for openings- that's how I found a position.

Good luck!

I don't work at Morrow County, but I live in that area of Ohio... I looked at Morrow County when I graduated back in '06 and I remember the pay rate being a few dollars less than some of the other hospitals in the area, I also remember that the hospital is fairly small. What turned me off is that they don't keep critical patients (which is my favorite area). I have heard from people that work at Morrow County that they really like it.

So what is bringing you to this area of Ohio?

Hi Shack!

I wondered if you were still a Nurse at Morrow County Hospital? I am a new Grad with my ADN and I also have applied for my BSN. Do you have any hints? Ive been watching the website and I have submitted a new app a few times with my resume and cover letter, but no calls. Do you know if they are still hiring new grads? Thanks!!
