Just wanted to see if their was anyone who would be starting the same time I will be. Good luck to everyone!

Actually, I may NOT be starting spring 2014 anymore. I just found out they lost their accreditation!

Yeah I know about the accreditation. I have been reading up on it. They are appealing & I am hopeful everything will work out. They are STILL accredited since the appeal.

I believe they are still accredited by the state, but not by NLNAC. I am actually Externing at one of the top Health Care Systems right now, and was told that I can only take my science courses at Tri-C. However, I need to find a new school for Nursing to attend. Deeply saddened by this.

I graduate from this program may 16 of this year. Are you seriously saying that the hospital told you that you have to go to a different nursing program? I am going to cry. We are being told by tri-c that this will not affect us.

You can go to the NLNAC's website and check the status of any school they accredit. Tri-c still has accreditation until the appeal is decided. There are several other schools in the state that are in trouble as well.

Does anyone know what "accreditation with conditions" means? The Plain Dealer stated that it was a downgraded accreditation. Is this true? Can't find any info.

I am not sure if this will apply to you, but because I haven't started the Nursing Program they told me I will have to do Nursing somewhere else and probably go straight for a BSN program because I will need it eventually. Just sharing what I've been told.

It means that they were cited for something and given a chance to correct it. Tri-c didnt make those corrections in a timely manner so they lost accreditation. Once they filed an appeal, their 'accreditation with conditions' status was reinstated pending the outcome of that appeal. If you graduate in May, you should have nothing to worry about because appeals take time.

Hey guys.... I'm also starting the nursing program in spring 2014. I was so excited about it... But now I see they are having problems with their accreditation. I don't know what I should do. Does anyone know of any other good 2 year RN programs? I'm from NY so I don't know what other schools that would be good to look into. I don't want to go to school then not be able to get hired someplace because my school wasn't accredited... Grrrr this sucks! I wonder how long before we will know if their appeal goes through...

I tried to reply back to your PM, but I don't have enough posts. I know what you mean with having to take more classes as pre-reqs to get in other schools. I looked at BSN programs, and they don't fit my schedule at all. I'm looking at Kent State Twinsburg ADN program now. I'm not sure if it's true, but I heard that have a part time evening program and have their clinicals at Marymount. I'm going to one of their information sessions coming up to check it out.

Hey girl! I was wondering the same thing! Does anyone know how long an appeal takes? I am looking into kent as well. Look it up. It's just a very frustrating situation to be in.

This is good to know. I went to KSU for 3 years, never knew they had an ADN program! I wish I would have known this before I applied at Tri-C! But good to know I have a back up if Tri-C doesn't pull through on this accreditation!
