I know that it's tempting to want a clinical site near your home, but one of the best things about nursing school is that you have a chance to see how lots of different hospitals care for patients.

...never mind, just saw that you've got southwest general. I'll be going to lakewood. So excited to be finally getting this program underway.

I know this is an older thread, but since some of you here said you have enrolled in the evening/weekend track what are the courses like in terms of what time they start and what evenings they are offered? I was in spring 2013 days (had to drop) and lecture and lab was two days a week and clinicals was another two days. Is that the same in evenings? I have obligations on Thursday evenings and Sunday mornings, do you think I would still be able to sign up for courses around that? I know things change every semester but I'm starting evening and weekends this fall so I wanted to have an idea

Evening lectures typically begin at 1700. Clinicals in the modified evening/weekend program can begin as early as 1500 during the week or can begin as early as 0700 for a weekend clinical. I think you are going to have difficulty, especially once you get to N2300, because virtually every student ends up with at least one Sat/Sun rotation during that semester. No one will guarantee you a certain clinical site to work around your schedule.
