  1. Yeah, I was thinking definitely not bringing it up in the initial phone interview. Maybe at the end of the face to face interview with the manager if I'm afforded the opportunity? I would just hate to get hired and start a job only to find out they can't accommodate my school schedule.
  2. I am currently interviewing for a tech position at a hospital. It's a straight night shift position (2 12hr shifts a week) with rotating weekends. I'm in a full time day track nursing program that will allow me to work any night a week BESIDES Monday's and Tuesday's. This is because I have an early morning clinical the next day. At what point would you suggest I bring that up? During the initial phone screening interview with HR? During the face to face interview with the manager(if I get that far)? If/when I get offered the job? I feel like I should be up front about any scheduling needs because if they can't accommodate obviously I wouldn't be a good fit for the position. I believe this unit does self scheduling, but Im sure based on staffing needs you don't *always* get the days you put down. What do you think?
  3. I'm currently accepted to a ADN program at my local community college for Spring 2016 semester. Everywhere I look, I see "BSN preferred" on job postings. Also a lot of the nurse extern/associate positions in the area want you to be in a BSN program as well. I was thinking about applying to some BSN programs but I wouldn't be able to start any(if accepted) until next fall. Do you think it would be worth it to wait for the BSN program? I do like that the BSN programs have a practicing/preceptorship component that ADN programs in the area don't. But at the same time, I am already accepted and guaranteed admission in the ADN program and what if I'm not accepted to the BSN program? I will add that I'm in Ohio and ADN graduates are still being hired. The ADN program would be two years and the BSN would only be 3 because of the classes I already have completed. I know this is a decision only I can make based on my circumstances, but I was wondering if any other nursing students have been in the same position?
  4. Congrats to you all! I was thinking about applying to Tri-C or CSU (I'm may just apply to both, and see where I get in). Is there any new updates regarding the accreditation status? I think I read somewhere they were to be re-evaluated this spring and I haven't really heard anything else after that.
  5. Thanks for your response! Have you completed the program already? How did you like it?
  6. I am thinking about applying to the nursing program at CSU. I have pretty much completed all the pre reqs except for Chem I & II. I plan on taking one this spring and the other in the summer semester. I actually planned to apply to the program in January though (I saw online that you can apply as long as you have two of the science courses completed). I heard how hard it may be to get in. Anyone in the basic BSN program now? My GPA is in the low 3's (3.2, 3.3) But I have pretty decent healthcare experience (been working at Cleveland Clinic for the past two and a half years). I plan to get references from my former NM and another nurse I used to work with. I hardly see CSU talked about around here lol. Any info would be greatly appreciated!
  7. I know this is an older thread, but since some of you here said you have enrolled in the evening/weekend track what are the courses like in terms of what time they start and what evenings they are offered? I was in spring 2013 days (had to drop) and lecture and lab was two days a week and clinicals was another two days. Is that the same in evenings? I have obligations on Thursday evenings and Sunday mornings, do you think I would still be able to sign up for courses around that? I know things change every semester but I'm starting evening and weekends this fall so I wanted to have an idea
