What's the weirdest baby name?

Specialties Ob/Gyn Nursing Q/A

Hi, I was wondering about some of those weird names that you've probably encountered in L&D and PP. I remember when I had my maternity rotation a couple of weeks ago, one of the nurses said she remembers a patient that named her child Placenta. I couldn't believe it that some child has to live his life named after disgusting afterbirth!

I went out with a guy named Wrangler.

My friend named her baby boy Climpston.

I knew a sad young mom who was an addict and named her son Dylan Kane (dealing cocaine)

I have a friend that named her child Dixie Mary Cilana. Cilana is not the last name, by the way. All the names are normal, but they just don't go together. She said she let her son name the baby---He's 8.

I met a boy once named Samhouston. They just called him Sam.

My best friend's husband wants to name their first son Dobbie, like from Harry Potter---And he is dead serious. I told her if he did I was going to get a life size cut out of the ugly little thing and put it in the baby's room, so he would know where he got his name from.

On the initial thing, I had a boss who's kid's first initials are a,b,c in order of birth. Ashley, Bethany, and Christopher

I used to work with a nonprofit organization and there were three elderly ladies on the board who were named Pussy, Kitty, and Bunny. I had a very hard time calling them by their first names. A 90 year old blue haired lady just shouldnt' be addressed as Pussy!

Could you image a CEO or even a President that rules nations with those type names or even elderly with such names.

Stacy

My second cousin's name is Kaelyn Marie Reality Cech (pronounced check), at least her mother (my cousin) was able to convince the father to have 2 middle names so hopefully the kids in school won't get hold of it.

I thought I was bad naming my son Wacey. I feel much better now.

I know a lady, I think she is a Mayor of a small town in East Texas and her name is "Ima Hog"

That is one set of mean parents right there.

I do know a boy name O'rion, we call him Ryan.

I rode the bus with two sisters named Ginger and Cinnamon Cates, and for years thought they were Ginger and Cinnamon Cakes. Pretty girls, very sweet to me when I was in the first grade and new to riding the bus.

Last month I took care of a little girl named Marijuana, and years ago had a 5-year-old female patient named Jezebel.

My mother had a student named Aqua Net, and for a short time, two friends of mine, Adam and Eve, dated each other. My ex-husband worked briefly with a contractor naemd Dick Small. Why did this man not insist on being called Richard??

I've delivered a Chlamydeea, Candida, Moon Star and I work with a Semaj (James spelled backwards).

Last week's patients included a boy named Yankee and a girl named Diamond Merchant. Her sister Emerald came in for a visit.

the other night I had a homeless couple name their child Loretta Lynn :)

Hey Y'all

Best baby name story I know....

Got on the elevator at Univ of Tenn (Knoxville) Hospital and an older couple got on at the L&D stop, obviously Grandparents. Very very rural Tennessee, salt of the earth, straight shooter folks. She was in a dress (visit to the big city hospital). He had on tweedy sport coat looking jacket over bib overalls.

"MISTY DAWN" he says under his breath, with a snort.

"Now, Bill"

"MISTY DAWN" he repeats shaking his head.

"Now, Bill"

"Why couldn't they just name her 'FOGGY MORNING' is they like that so much?"

And I had to wait for 5 floors til they got out before I laughed.

Now a Papaw (Tennessean for Grand Dad) myself,

Papaw John

What's up with the car thing too? My friends have Chevy, Portia, Monte Carlo (Boy) and they just had a girl named Lexus. Wrong, wrong. I think that it's funny too when people get married and their name is funny. My friend's grandma was "Erma Jean Pepper" and after she got married it was "Erma Jean Pepper Green" I also know someone who's last name was Rahn pronounced "ran" and married someone with the last name of "Fast." :chuckle
