What's your pick for the perfect nurses watch?

Nurses Uniform/Gear

Published

Hi all!

I'm looking for the perfect nurses watch and could use some help. Perfect for me, means analog, with military time, night light, over sized plate, I can find that easy enough, but I'm struggling to find a watch that I can wear all the time, meaning I don't particularly like the "white band" and am looking for a dressier band.

So... any ideas, favorites? Big thanks!

I'll be watching this thread intently too. I just rec'd the chrome military watch with leather band from Jasco and the face of this watch is HUGE! I'll be returning this one.

How do you take BP, RR, etc., with these watches?!?!

I have never heard of a watch that takes a BP.

I think she was meaning how do you do it because there's no second hand.

That third set of numbers on that watch is the seconds. The watch is reading 10:58 and 50 seconds. That 3rd set is the seconds counting down.

I love my watch I bought at Walmart for about ten bucks.

It's digital and has a second hand- it also glows in the dark, has the date, day, an alarm and can work as a stop watch...cute, plastic, and lightweight...I love it!

That sounds like the perfect watch I'm looking for! Does it do military time? Do you have the brand? Picture?

The brand of watch is called Athletic Works. It's plastic and it comes in all colors...mine is a see through pink.

You can program it for military time this watch does it all! I love it! My sister loved it so much, she went and got one also.

I had a digital watch with seconds and had to get a new one for our program, it was required to be a face watch with a very visible second hand.

If we didn't have an appropriate watch we weren't let onto the clinical site.

Nurses in the UK are not allowed to wear wrist watches, due to 'ye olde infection control'. So we all have fob watches, and they work just fine, there are so many different designs about, fun and more serious. I've had the same one for 13 years, and only this morning put it through the washing machine!! Good job it's my birthday next week. Best of luck buying the right one.

Swiss army, on my wrist programmed for military time with the date.

Picked up a watch at Walmart for $29. It has a second hand, military time, date, and is indiglo. It's a Timex Expedition. I looked everywhere and didn't want to spend $400- on a swiss army.

I found a super cute digital watch on clearance at Target for $3 but I agree with another poster---washing your hands with a watch on (even if it's waterproof) bugs the heck out of me because the watch gets wet and I can't properly dry off...I've been looking for a cute, cheap lapel watch to try it out and found this one on allheart:

There's also a hello kitty one with a pink face!

Not sure which I'll get yet, though the Hello Kitty one is cuter and more 'me.'
