We don't even find out what the uniforms are until the first day of class. They tell us it's useless to ask students who are ahead of us because they are thinking of maybe MAYBE changing the colors...from what? dont know.

I want that steth! :)

We are all supposed to get standard sprauge (sp?)...I figure I'll save the really nice one for when I graduate! I've read all great things about the Littman's...so enjoy it!! You should also think about getting your initials engraved in it too...I hear they also tend to sprout legs and walk off!

Unfortunately, in addition to being penomaniacs, medical personnel also like the looks of someone else's stethoscope. I had a Sprage-Rappaport ENGRAVED WITH MY NAME that an ICU nurse asked to borrow, during a code on my floor. A year later, when I worked in the ER and took a pt. to ICU, lo, and behold, there was my stethescope draped across a pt's. IV pump! I had to show the RN my name engraved on it before she would give it to me-said it was hers!

I'd put a retractable tether on yours, or something!

thank you all for the kind advice !! i have a cheaper one (generic) that i can use too. i will guard the littman with my life. had no idea that these things can grow legs and walk off... they are way too expensive to have to replace.

stephany, yes, it feels great to get things purchased, although i didn't get any shoes today. i'm going to ask thurs. if we are allowed to wear clogs. so at least my mc will be able to cool down a little bit !!

My LPN school starts this Monday, Aug. 5th. We have already been sized for our Hunter Green uniforms; in orientation, they told us they would takes us shopping to get the rest of our required materials(our grant monies people require that they take us shopping and tell us what type of things to get), which is find by me. I was lucky, my schooling is be paid by all grants! So I will use whatever stuff they want me to! Getting a little anxious and nervous about Monday!!!!!

debralyn, omg, i start monday too, tomorrow is orientation, to get books and stuff..lol.. i have everything i need except shoes.. but clinicals don't actually start until sept, so there's still time.

i only have 11 months.. yahoo !! you will have to keep in touch so we can compare our programs and offer tips !!
