Just got my Littmann Master Cardiology Stethoscope.. - page 4

Just wanted to say that it's awesome. Much, much better than the cheaper base models you see floating around. I'm not saying that those are worthless or anything, but this one was worth the money. ... Read More

So I'm new to the site, and I graduate this weekend from nursing school and will start working in a Med/Surg ICU. I want to get Master Littman, and I know someone posted that you can take it to Things Remembered to get it engraved. Has anyone found a website online to purchase it and get it engraved at the same time? I'm trying to shop online for the best price and get it engraved with one click of my mouse

Just ordered a Cardiology III with engraving from www.steele.com they engrave and as a bonus their prices were right at the low end of the scale!

    Congrats and good luck!

I have a Littmann Classic II S.E., and it cost me $70.00. I purchased mine from Standris Medical Supply (www.standris.com) through our school's nursing student association. I haven't used it in a clinical setting yet, but I like it so far. It was the most recommended for NS by NS students.

There are many colors you can choose for the tubing. I had to choose the color from a paper chart when I ordered it, and I was so indecisive about which color to get. I ended up getting Caribbean Blue, and I am very pleased with it!

At a uniform store back home, the same stethoscope was around $89.00.

You can find good prices online, but you may have to pay around $9 for shipping and handling.

I am starting the BSN program in August, so I bought myself a little present for making the Dean's List and getting in so quickly. I bought a Master Cardiology (Black Ed.), and I LOVE it. I am wanting to get my name on it somehow (maybe lasered or engraved?) Just something to personalize it so it doesn't "grow legs." lol Any suggestions how I can get my name on it? I already have it, and I don't want to ship my baby off, LOL. I would rather take it somewhere. Thanks!

I asked at the local engraving place and they basically said they would not do it, so I purchased mine from steeles.com and they engraved it for me. Looks great too!

Same here, I ordered my from steeles mainly because they engrave the bell instead of the tubing like allheart and others. The pricing was one of the cheapest as well.

They did a good job on my cardio III.

YEs, it has an plastic adapter that can be used even on infants. I have never used the adapter though.

There's no rule that says you CAN'T use a master cardiology steth on peds. I like to use pediatric sized stethoscopes on infants, but others have no issues whatsoever. One of those whatever-floats-your-boat sort of things.

[font=book antiqua]i just bought the littmann master cardiology stethoscope from ebay after debating on which to buy (the cardio iii or the master), but i had heard from several people that the master is the best choice. so i was extremely happy when i saw this stethoscope on ebay for $125 + $10 shipping. i plan to get it engraved at things remembered so it doesn't "grow legs." i can't wait to start my clinicals!

There is really something to be said for the higher end stethoscopes. I work in a CCU and my Littmann (I have a STC Stethoscope) really allows me to hear those S3s, S4s, and murmurs. I left it at home one day and had to borrow a collegue's Classic II SE and I felt LOST. I couldn't hear anything but bilateral breath sounds. For my money, Littmann stethoscopes are the only way to go.

I just got my Littmann Master Cardiology this weekend, and I am very pleased with it! I was amazed at what I could hear that I couldn't hear before. I also learned that I was putting the earpieces in wrong (LOL). I had them backwards. I think that may have had a little to do with not being able to hear, but it would have still been bad with that crappy Prestige SpragueLite. I took it to Things Remembered and they could not engrave it because they said their machine would break the chestpiece. My mom remembered that one of the jewelry places in our town would engrave it, so I am hoping they will be able to.

I just purchased my Littman Cardiology III from stethoscopes.com
They will also laser engrave your Littman on the metal tubing near the ear pieces. I like this better than steeles.com because you can choose the font you want on it, of which they have thousands to choose from and you can also choose the size of the font. They also offer a bunch of different pictures/symbols if you would like those also or instead.

I have not yet received it to say if it turned out the way I expected since I just ordered it two days ago. But when I get it I will do another posting.
