Hi everyone. I'm finding the process of writing a decent resume quit hard and would like somebody to check it and tell me whats wrong with it.

I would take out the professional summary and objective. The summary simply takes up space, and is repetitive. Objectives are pretty much obsolete anymore.

Take out your GPA. No need to include it unless asked. Also take out "patient and family focused".

Take out the "fluffy" words in your job descriptions. Keep the resume objective and to the point.

For your community health assignment, what kind of care did you provide in the home? I would elaborate, because it could be anything from cooking and cleaning to adjusting vent settings, and there's a big difference between the two. Also omit that you employed the nursing process. Things like that are generally assumed.

Add/replace the fluff with quantifiable accomplishments.

Some examples of the kinds of things in our profession that are quantifiable are:

How many lives saved in an ER role.

How many concurrent Pts managed in LTC or recovery ward.

Number of hours in surgery as med/surg nurse.

These areas may not directly apply to your experience. I hope you get the idea though.
