Nurses Job Hunt

Specializes in OB.

Hi all!

I need some help updating my resume. I have a resume with my previous job in med-sug oncology but after getting my current job on a mother baby unit 6 years ago, I have not updated it to put this experience on since. I am at a loss for how to word properly my experience in mother-baby. If anyone has a sample resume with mother baby experience on it I would appreciate the help! Any suggestions would be appreciated because I have writer's block :) Thanks in advance!

Specializes in L&D, infusion, urology.

I precepted on a MBU. Here's a copy/paste from my resume with a description:

Mother baby unit- performed the role of a registered nurse under the supervision of a preceptor RN, providing comprehensive care to newborns, mothers and families. Provided culturally-sensitive care to patients and their families; assessed mothers and newborns; administered IV, oral, ocular and parenteral medications; tended to surgical incisions and skin tears; managed high risk patients with conditions such as hypoglycemia, psychiatric diagnoses, hypermagnesemia, teens, and hemorrhage; referred patients to community resources and providers; educated patients; provided lactation support and guidance.
