If you do a search here you will find info as I was originally going to go to this school.....But when it was taking them longer than a month to eval my school transcripts, didn't give me a good feeling and went elsewhere. But you will find info on here. Best of luck

I've done some searching, haven't really come up with a lot of information as to what the classes as like, grading, wanting more info on the last class which is supposed to take place of the clinical portion.

Sorry it took too long for transcripts. It seems like it has been a quick process for me, they evaluated my application and transcripts from 3 schools in 2.5 weeks

Was over a month--they kept saying it would be soon, would be soon! I inquired with a few other schools and they were able to give me an unofficial reply that same day or in a few days..and was free, unlike the $25 Lafayette charged. Just made me think if the enrollment process was painful, whats the rest going to be like,lol But like everything else many have positive experiences and some have negative ones. I'm very happy to being going to GCU.

So far I honestly must say it has been very good. I've been fortunate to get good teaching assistants who grade thoroughly and quickly. I do know of one student who has not gotten feedback on a paper for quite a while and that is irritating for her but it's a hit or miss with TA's I guess. The main instructors for the classes are very good about getting back to you with questions on a timely manner. I am in my second term (love 7 week terms!!) and it is fairly easy. So far there has been similarities between the two classes. There are weekly quizzes which are about 10 to 20 questions each. There is usually a discussion board every other week where you have to also reply to another student. Those require nursing journals for references but again are fairly easy if you've had a lot of writing experience. And then there's usually a couple of larger papers only about three pages each though. Again so far the program has been great. And the cost is very reasonable. Any other questions let me know. I know this is very general!

Oh and to add to this I honestly don't know much about the capstone project. I'm sure it's just something we have to do at her workplace.

Thanks! There isn't a whole lot info, but everyone I have talked to at the school has been wonderful! I'm exited to start!

I think they are pretty new to the online thing if I'm not mistaken. I looked in to them previously as well. Just be careful because from what I've noticed is that the cheaper programs have to you other classes you don't need with others and it wracks up your cost. They also don't figure in the cost of books either. Just like UTA doesn't.

I ended up going to WGU and am happy I did (books are free there, too), but Lafayette was second on my list - I crossed them off due to lack of information on the program so I'll be curious to see how the program works out. I think it was second cheapest to WGU, at least when I checked 6 months ago. It looks like a good program! :)

Cost is actually relatively cheap, at $8500 to complete the nursing courses. I only have three gen ed classes to complete and I am taking them through a local community college to keep cost down. I also have looked up several of the books I need and I can rent most of them, or buy them for about $40-50 on amazon. The reason I chose not to go with WGU was I didn't like the pass/fail I was going to get for the class. I wanted a grade...and was a little worried how this would affect my gpa and if I decided to finish my masters someday. I hear a lot of people like it though!! I'll be curious to see how I like the classes at university of Louisiana once I start. Everyone has been great that I have talked to at the school...responding to emails and any questions I have very quickly, so hopefully that doesn't change.

I've applied to this school, UTA, and Indiana Wesleyan. I am a little nervous about not much info about the program but the few that have started seemed to have liked it so far. I did consider OU but I heard mixed things about the program on here from a few. I am also applying to Kaplan, but due to the cost I am reconsidering because it'll be a little bit more than what my job will pay. However, if I do get them to knock it down a little bit then I would consider them. I am considering them for the FNP if I do not get into a CNM program.

I will also be starting in January '14. I can't find a lot of information on them but what I've read (mostly on here) seems to be positive. I'm excited to get started and I like being able to fully complete the program in one year.

A little saddened because I have to wait to test for NCLEX. I am hoping to get it by the deadlines for the March test.
