In preparation for getting a BSN, I am trying to gather information regarding online BSN programs. if you have links to what you feel is an affordable,:rolleyes: online, no residency requirement program, please post 'em here.

One program that I came across was at Thomas Edison State College. does anyone have any information regarding their program? I was hoping to find someone that has first hand (or second hand ? ) experience with the TESC RN to BSN program as it seems to be an affordable option, which, of course, is always a bonus. from reading the catalog on their site it appears that you can use some of the EC exams to satisfy the upper-level nursing courses.

The TESC program looks pretty decent but I am looking for some feedback to any online rn to BSN program. if anyone has links to what they feel is an affordable online rn/bsn program please post the link here.

Online Nursing Degree Programs at Thomas Edison State University

The University of Maryland has an online RN-BSN program. I'm in the RN-MS program and I live in MD, but I've been taking online classes so far, and have had several classmates from out of state. The website is nursing.umaryland.edu.

Part-time fees starting Fall 2005 are $301 per credit for instate residents, and $461 per credit out of state. In addition, both have a $10 per credit fee, and a $234.50 flat fee per semester. Compared to some of the programs already mentioned, I'm not sure how affordable this program is :)

The following is quoted from the above link:

"New Admission Policy

Admitted to UW with completed transcript evaluation

Application to School of Nursing

Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) or completed first year of RN program"

I am waiting to hear back from someone from UOW about what this means exactly...

I'm attending Florida Hospital College of Nursing and we have students from all over. We all pay the same tuition. It's about $220/hr. No clinicals except at the end you have to follow a manager/supervisor around. 100% online.

**** It is a whole lot more expensive that about 220/hr

NOTE:

Tuition and fees for courses, examinations for the nursing component and general education requirements taken at other institutions will be the student's responsibility.

BSN students who, in a 12-month period, earn a minimum of 3 credits at Thomas Edison State College or elsewhere, will be considered continuously enrolled. Students who, in a 12-month period, do not earn a minimum of 3 credits at Thomas Edison State College or elsewhere will be placed on Inactive Status. At the time students reactivate their status and return to the College, they will submit a new application, and a review of credentials will be required along with the appropriate fees.

Non-enrolled students who wish to try an online nursing course may take 2 courses prior to enrollment. Students must be enrolled by end of second nursing course.

Note: Active duty military personnel who enroll in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree program will pay the nursing program tuition rate.

Under the FAQ section from your link, it states that tuition is the same as the oncampus program.

The TAMUCC website states the non-resident tuition is $368 per credit hour. Here is the link.

I graduated from UW's online RN-BSN program. It was the best program I could find, for my situation at least, after months of researching programs. I was able to complete the program while working as a traveler.

hi, i just finished an online rn to bsn at university of north alabama. http://www.una.com 1-800-talkuna. great program, did clinicals in my area , didn't have to have an rn license in their state and fees reasonable. did require quite a bit of additional academics though. good luck

Although you stated affordable, I did the University of Phoenix online BSN and now the MSN and I find it totally doable. I'm going from an ADN to BSN to MSN in 30 months.

I was checking out this thread to see what people thought about the University of Phoenix. I actually started working with UOP-Online in the Healthcare arena. I represent UOP at hospitals and clinics and enroll new strudents for our degree programs.

I would like to know what the general consensus is regarding the UOP - Online programs. Your feedback is appreciated.

I have heard good things about UOP; the only complaint I have heard is the high tuition but I feel that UOP should remove the one year expereince requirement. So many people graduate with a BSN without ever having nursing experience from Colleges all around the country so why should it be different for ASN RN's.
