Q: Time line between CPNE and RN

Can I get some stories of people going through the graduation and licensing process so I can get a rough time line for this whole thing? How long did you have between graduation and licensing?

I called the school and they basically told me that I had to wait for my graduation date...which is in June. After that I guess I can take the boards. I have all my applications and registrations complete. I'd like to speed things up since I live in Georgia and I have extra paperwork and waiting to do here. I've been studying for the NCLEX and as soon as I am able I'll schedule it.

Thanks!!

Just got off the phone with EC. Passed CPNE May 10th, can't "Graduate" until July 17th. I am in Massachusetts, their application process is farmed out to Professional Credentialing Services in TN. Then I have to go on to pearsonvue/nclex and pay more money. The holdup is from EC. They won't sign off on the certificate of graduation until July 17th. So it is likely that I won't get my ATT until end of July or early August. I just took a practice NCLEX off of the CD and did well. I am so annoyed at this waiting. May 10th to July 17th seems like an awfully long time to fill out one form. I can't hold out that long without a job either. I have to find a LPN gig or maybe ********* shoveling, about equal fun in these parts of the world.

Do you still have to apply through endorsement? With law 475 signed by the governor on the 29th can you just now apply for license directly to the GA BON? Oh also where did you take your CPNE?

I'm not sure about how 475 affects new grads.....I applied 4/17 before the law was signed into effect. That's a really good question though.

The e-mail that Excelsior sent out tells us Georgians to continue the process of licensure by endorsement until Georgia establishes a system for the new bill. As long as you enrolled before July 2008 you're good to go without any additional clinical hours.

Thanks :D MN was extremely quick I was rather impressed. I'm coming up on a month for GA! My application was reviewed on 5/6 and they notified me I didn't disclose a charge and had to write a letter of explanation ect ect.....It was a freakin bad check charge from back in 2001 that I had forgotten all about:angryfire So I got all of the stuff together and overnighted it to the BON and now I'm back to the waiting game:banghead:

Well, good luck. I'm in the process of getting the background check stuff done. I'm hoping to complete this whole process as soon as possible. I'm studying for my NCLEX nightly so I can be ready when I get my ATT. Make sure you post something letting us know when you get it. You're so close!!!

hope you get it soon

I graduated May 9th, rec'd my ATT on May 30th and took and passed the NCLEX on June 10th. My employer is just waiting for my license to show on the BON so I can work. Hope this helps
