I wondered if there are any more fully online transition programs for LVN to RN, not bachlors, just ADN. I know about excelsior but it is so expensive! I am graduation the first week in december and would like to have something lined up to start in january.

i guess this depends on what you think expensive is. i was out about 6k maybe 6.5k....but i didn't have to sit in a class room so i worked when i wanted and studied around work...... most people think ec is outrageously expensive. if you stay away from publishing companies like tcn and go straight through ec is can be cheaper than you think....

If you're looking for cheaper you won't find cheaper or more convenient than EC. You don't have to purchase study guides from publishers. EC has study guides on their website, tells you what text to buy. Buy from half.com and buy a year or two older edition that what EC is selling and you'll be paying $5-10 per textbook. I got though at $9,000 which I financed myself. I paid as a went along.

thank you so much! how do you go directly through excelsior? everything I look up keeps saying college network

Specializes in Home Health, Podiatry, Neurology, Case Mgmt.

go directly to http://www.excelsior.edu and sign up for the MyEC its a free student account. they also have FREE content guides for each exam (sign into you MyEC acct then go all the way down to bottom right corner and click on FREE content guides) find the one you want to print, print it off and then look and see what textbooks are needed. i got all my texts on ebay and half.com for around $5 to $20 including shipping. I spent $180 on ALL the texts i'll need for the entire nursing program doing that!
