Hi Everyone,

I have been an lpn for 2 years, and tried traditional school but the waiting list i am scared of. I have some of my pre req finish, and just signed up for excelsior today, i have so many doubts i am so scared that it will turn out to be a scam, and hospitals will not accept me as an RN when i am finish. Anyone in ga have any imput, who has successful completed the program?

ps: i also have a NJ nursing licsence

Candy, contact your BON to find out if they accept Excelsior.

It is certainly not a scam.

:)

hi. I myself live in Georgia, and I know lots of RN's who have graduated from excelsior and passed the Georgia state board. I work with 3 of them at the present time and can think of 2 others that I used to work with. Excelsior is legit in Georgia. The most recent grad finished about 2 weeks ago. I got so jealous because the 2 of us had started excelsior together in the late 90's thru early 2000, but I got married and had kids in the meantime. It took her 7 years after she enrolled to finish and she went through a lot during that time, but she did it. I want to, too!!!

Make sure you contact the board of nursing. To the best of my knowlege you will have to get your intitial license in another state. Most people do TN, then apply for your GA license by endorsment. I know of at least 15 LPN or Paramediccs who have gotten their RN this way.
