Should i make a big deal? long pont urgent reply
Thank for the responses everyone. To answer someone's question about if th ejob was starving y only float positions. My job hire lots of nurses, but after a few weeks , or so people quit, so whoever is there has a permanent floor, and they haveothers that covers floor when the permanent person is away. I am off from work today and i go back tomorrow, and its upsetting my entire day. I do not want to just quit because i actually like working for the facility , ad even though upon starting and being stressed i taugh tof quitting i never did. I am relocating to Massachusets this summer and i really dont want to be job hopping , because it does not look good on a resume, especially me being a new nurse .

Should i make a big deal? long pont urgent reply
As Some of you know, i am a new grad lpn who was having a very difficult time getting use to my new job because of insufficient orientation and not even cooperation from advance staff members. Anyways it has bee 2 months and i have been assign to one floor, and suprisingly i have grown to love it , and i developed a lot of confidence. My floor have a total of 20 pt, a small few of which are LTC, ( The only floor in the building that have any ltc patient) the others sub acute and rehab and another small few young cosmetic clients. and hospice, so i have it pretty mixed. unlike most floors. ANYWAYS , i learnt a lot and i have been told many times i am doing a great job, From DON for some reason my floor has been labeled th e slower floor, which is not really true. NOW THIS IS THE PROBLEM: we have a new nurse that started about 1 month ago , she was on orientation for 2 weeks and after one day on her own she called th enext day to quit. It so happen on her first day alone i was th eother nurse on the floor and i tried to help her as much as i could, but periodically she got to anxious and went fo several long smoke breaks expecting me to do her work, while she was away, then the next day she left. Now my job is really starving for nurses because many quit because they can t handle the pressure, so they literallycalled and beg her to come back , which she did , and they give her extra orientation but i have the feeling they have plans to put he r on my floor and have me be a float nurse, which i do not want to do , and know i am not ready for, being i am new myself, the other floors are really very much more hectic. SHOULD I JUST GIVE UP MY SPOT AND FLOAT OR TRY TO STAY O N THE FLOOR. I am finally starting to love nursing and get use to things. My thing is i dont mind going to another floor and working there permanently but unfortunately they only have float positions left , everyone is already assigned a floor, including the new girl, bu ttomorrow i am off and they have her on my floor and i just know she will tell them she want to stay there, because she thinks she will get a little more time for smoke breaks,. ADVISE ME PLEASE, DONT EVEN KNOW IF THIS POST IS MAKING SENSE, BUT ITS DRIVING ME CRAZY AND I AM SO WORRIED OF HAVING TO START OVER AND THE ANXIETY WILL HAPPEN ALL OVER AGAIN.:trout:

To Mars and back. in one night...... help
:uhoh21: hi guys, i really need someone to talk to. I am a new Lpn as some of you already know from my previous post. I started working at a sub acute, rehab, facility, its very fast pace. I started 2 week ago and i was told i would get two week orientation, and more time if i did not feel ready. Yesterday was suppose to be my last day orientating , when i got in to work i was told that i would be on my own, i told my DON that i want another week , she looked at me as if i had 5 heads. For my two weeks i did not feel that i learnt as much as i should, some of my preceptors were more into geting there work done than really showing me the ropes. Anyways me not being a quitter isaid you know what i can do this, so they put me on the 6th floor which has about 10 ltc patient and the rest sub acute , this floor is the only floor that has ltc patient, with a total of 24 patients ( this floor is label the slow floor). I started off on the floor trying to get my blood sugars done, and then i had 24 patients to medicate and treatments, plus we had 2 new adissions, at my facility , they are always a lot of admission and the LPN's AS WELL AS THE RN do their own assessment, head to toe, plus doing the forms , plus call the doctors and transcribe in the MAR, one nurse does all of this on one shift, if the admission is on your side you have to do it, even if its 5 or 6, plus get all your other work done. Last night i was so overwhelmed i wanted to go to MARS, i wanted to cry i was so stressed and confuse, and then i started messing up. I took forever to paas my meds, and then some of the patient was outf there room and when 2 of them came back, i totally forgot to give 5pm meds to them, i feel so horrible, i told the supervisor, i did not get to do one of my admission, and i left work at 2:00 am , my shift is 3 to 11:30. In the beginning before i took the job the DON told me it was a very tough place for a new grad, since its very fast pace, they are always adssion, since its a huge facility , and you never know how many new adission you will get on your floor, and the 11 to 7 staff, have a problem taking over your work. On the opposite side of my floor there is a male nurse an older gentleman working and he seems annoyed when i ask him questions, but i am new and i need all the help i can get, and also this morning the nurse that took over my shift called my cell to tell, me she cant find the admission papers for the new admit i did not do and plus, how she needed blood work to be done today and i put the form in the wrong place so she cant get her blood drawn until monday. help me please i need advice, i feel so incompetent, i feel like i have been working for this for so long and now i dont want it, i dont want to be a quitter, but i already feel sick to my stomach to go to work tomorrow, i have a class mate, who is now working on her own 2 weeks there and she says she cry every night, and that she leave 2 or 3 am every day and her shift ends at 11:30. what should i do? i feel so stressed i dont even want to go get my rn in january any more. reply soon:trout:

Jersey City Med Ctr or Palisaides Med Ctr
i did my clinicals at both palisades medical center and jersey city, I am an LPN. Palisades i did almost all my clinical rotation, its a very nice clean hospital, and there is great rooom for growth, the staff are willing to teach. I prefer palisades over jersey city hospital. I did my PSYCH rotation at jersey city, its an okay hospital, but something about it gives me the creeps.

Pay
I Am not an RN yet but i am a new grad LPN, working in sub acute care center in bergen county NJ Making $24.75 an hr and 26.25 on wweekend. I know my facility RN per diem RATE IS in the late 50's. As far as getting your liscence and the wait, i think NJ board sucks, i had major probles getting my liscence. You are suppose to get a congratulation letter in the mail prior to testing in 7 to 10 business days, all jobs accept that and you can work with that, the liscence comes in another 7 to 10 days,( this all depends on how th eboard of nursing is acting at that period of time, because they are slow.) I hope i helped a little

So Frustrated with the board of nursing in nj
:angryfire I took my nclex pn , september 12th , got my results from perarson vue, stating i passed. I took my fingerprint september 26th and was told i will get my congratulation letter 7 to 10 business days after. Today is OctoBer 12th and i am yet to receive anything in the mail. I call the board of nursing every day , after hiking my phone bill up from constantly being on hold for very long period, i am always greeted by someone with an attitude that is clueless to what is going on, friday oct 6th i wastold that my congratulation letter will be sent out immediately, everytime i call i hear something different, i am so frustrated, and i am obsess with the mail carrier, every morning i check my mail and am always dissapointed, i have missed more than one job offers because most want a physical copy of the liscence or even the congratulation letter, i do have the liscence number but for most places it dont count for nothing. Does anyone know what i can do? I cant take it anymore. I have classmates that has been waiting on ATT for over a month , what is wrong with the board of nursing in NJ? Does anyone know if i can walk in and get a copy i live less than 15 min from the headquarters by car. I have never gotten to ask the this question because most of the time the rude person that answers the phone hang up when i am in mid sentence.:angryfire

What should i do????new LPN!!
I am a new LPN Graduate that has been working at a sub acute facility in NJ as a CNA for about 6 months while finishing school. I passed my nclex and now i am confuse as to where to work. My job had told me prior to me passing the nclex that i can work per diem or part time,, now that i havemy results they say full time or nothing at all. I really would like to work at a hospital full time. I interviewd for a med surg position at a hospital that i did most of my clinicals and i am sure i will be hired they just need me to be bls certified which i am in the process of getting done. This hospital hire new grad lpn med surg full time only. I really refuse to settle but i need to start working soon and i dont have a set date this hospital will call me back. PROBLEM NUMBER TWO. the largest hospital in the state had offered me a position a few weeks back but they need the physical copy of the liscence which i will recieve soon they want to hire me for psych, i love psych but not for full time as a new grad so i am thinking about doing it per diem until this hospital calls me, what do you guys think? is it doable for a new grad to work a full time 40 hrsmed surg and a per diem psych ?i am very confuse? and do you think i should still givemy job a resignation even though they made me have to choose?
