Okay, so I am digging into my CPNE study guide, and I am coming up with more and more questions!
First, thank you Beachnurse for the tip of using plastic covers & dry erase markers for my for my documentation forms! Works like a charm & what a savings
I finally printed that mammoth book, and it looks far more offending now in print than it did on CD, lol.
Question: Are these documentation forms (like the care plan forms, the PCS Assignment Kardex form, selected areas of care form, nurses narrative notes) the EXACT forms that will be given to us in the CPNE, or will we see some other foreign form? How many different sets of VS flow sheets are there out there?
Question: We will get an orientation to the ward on Friday after our lab sim? So, for supplies that we would need for a wound dressing change, 4X4, abd, etc...are these easy to find? We keep ours in an "omnicell" glass cabinets, that we need passwords to access, and you can electronically search for items but this can sometimes take several minutes because of the strange names that supplies are filed under. New people have a terrible time, just wondering what people have seen in their testing centers.
Question: Regarding abbreviations use in our documentation; There is the "acceptable abb" and "unacceptable" list, do I HAVE to abbreviate at all?
My list goes on and on, but I thought I would sent it out in small bites.
