I am thinking about doing this & wondered how it works. If you are currently doing yours online I would love to hear about the experience. Would you do it again???? also pros & cons. Thanks!

I am currently enrolled in online BSN program at Florida Hospital College of Health Sciences. I love it! I have to be online for 1 hr. each week for the scheduled chat. For my class, there were 4 chat times to choose from- 1 at 11am, 1 at 7pm, 1 at 9pm and one on another day at 7:30pm. We get our manual and assignments at the start of the semester. Each week is broken down into a module. There is assigned reading in textbook, and cd-rom lecture with voice which is just like sitting in a classroom listening to the instructor. There is a 2 page paper due each week which we pick from 4 choices to do. There is a quiz online at the end of each week and we have to reply to everyone else's submitted paper. I basically have to log on everyday towards the end of the week, but I love the fact that there is no driving time to school. Clinical is minimal since most in the program are clinically practicing RN's. For more info see:

You can call for info. I was impressed with the info provided over the phone. Some other schools were hesitant to answer questions (they shall remain nameless so as not to offend anyone.)

Hope this helps.

I am presuming you already have your RN? Check this thread out: https://allnurses.com/forums/f125/rn-bsn-online-105380.html

I'm a year into the program Nicole describes above. I have no regrets. Online works well for me.

I am complete my RN-BSN via jacksonville university, it has worked great for me. You can check out the web site at jacksonvilleu.com

Thanks everybody! I have just completed my ADN, and wanted to get right back into it so to speak. I will be taking the NCLEX as soon as I complete the mandatory 120 hrs. hands on pt. care required in KY. (after graduation). Plus I am also doing Suzanne 4's Nclex prep. I have never done anything online, but thought it had to better than driving an hour each way to campus. Thanks again!

i am a huge fan of online learning. the drive to school is a killer all by itself if you've got a busy schedule.
