I would appreciate any feedback regarding this program.

Aspen is CCNE accredited and Regionally accrediited.

Aspen has national accreditation but is not regionally accredited. Listed right on their homepage.

Yep, that's why some folks DON'T apply...certain NP programs, etc won't accept non-regionally accredited transfers...others will. Check first!

:yeah:Aspen is wonderful. They will support you from the get-go! I was sooooooooo nervous but just jump in and that feeling will pass. Their admission process is straight-forward, organized and efficient. I look forward to "seeing you" class!

Mtsteelhorse,

How are you progressing with Aspen University? Like it so far?

Would like to hear how you've been doing!

I withdrew...way too much of a time committment for me right now...have kids, job and don't want to spend all my spare time researching and writing papers. So, I got an A in the first course then re-evaluated my priorities. I'm attending Ohio Univ online for my BSN. I liked Aspen just fine but it's not the right time in my life. Thanks for checking in!

Specializes in Psych, Informatics, Biostatistics.

I was accepted 30 days ago, and am now enrolling for my first course. Any new information on Aspen? I only have to complete 10 courses as I have two masters already. I don't see much of a downside to this, as I am interested in many of the courses. One thing: I am not happy that I have to take Nursing Administration rather than Infection Control offered by American Sentinel. Thing is Sentinel is $200.00 per credit more, and I can't justify that expense, though since their core curriculum is the same, I think I could transfer after taking the three core courses at Aspen. Any comments or thoughts would be much appreciated.

I started Tuesday, I am thinking of withdrawing. I find alot of the stuff they teach I am just not interested in. Concept Analysis? I could care less. I think a real class room would liven it up, but Aspen is not that kind of school. They suggest you spend about 20 hours per week on each module. Unless you are going for the NP, an MSN is not really going to do that much for you.

I was bored to tears with the content...and it required so much time to do a thorough job. I think it's probably a good program if you're into the material...I was not. Getting my BSN then maybe NP. Aspen would've taken me 3 years...ugh. Good luck with figuring things out. Are you interested in an NP program?

Specializes in Psych, Med/Surg, LTC.

Does this program require stats and chem? I know you have to do clinicals..

I thought the interactive content was downright boring. I have done an online BSN, and MSLS through Clarion University; both programs were great. For me to spend hours studying stuff that I will never use, is pointless. I would much rather spend my educational dollars and time at UCSD extension. I plan on taking a few of their certificate programs such as Java, and maybe C. I am working towards a Biostatistics certificate right now, short two classes.

No, but if I were, I would check out Clarion University's program at West Penn. I think if I were younger, I would be, but alas I am 55, and would prefer to work as a Systems Analyst/ Nursing Informatician for the rest of my days.

No clinicals at Aspen, but they don't offer an NP, but there are Capstone courses. For an NP you will need clinicals.

I was just curious as to your long term goals. I'm 50 and it's new the 30 as far as I'm concerned! Good luck to you.

Hello, just trying to get some feedback about your experience with Aspen. I'm still skeptical but they have the best tuition rate in town besides being accredited program. Any information about your online experience and info about their modules is greatly appreciated. thanks.
