American Sentinel University vs Western Governors University

I am graduating in May with my ADN and plan to pursue my RN-MSN in education through an online university. I am trying to decide between American Sentinel University and . Anybody who has completed this program at the said universities, please provide me with some insight! How long did it take you, cost, level of difficulty, accreditation, overall review..etc. Any information will help aid in my future decision! Thank you!!

I enjoyed my time with . It took 10 months for me to complete 34 credits with a cost of $5,800 in tuition and fees.

The deal-breaker for me regarding American Sentinel was the DEAC accreditation. It is CCNE-accredited, but lacks regional accreditation.

No regional accreditation, no deal for me. Most will have no problem with it, but at least one job I had (a federal job) wanted a regionally accredited school - which ASU is not, at least the last time I checked. If you decide against , there are other regionally accredited schools you could try! :)

Did you receive your BSN in 10 months from WGU?
It personally took me 10 months to complete 's online BSN program. I started in May 2014 and completed the degree in March 2015.

The other contributor to this thread (featherzRN) completed WGU's online BSN program in less than four months. However, she worked through the degree requirements much more quickly than the vast majority of students.

Is WGU regionally and nationally accredited?

It sounds weird, but in academia regional accreditation is the gold standard versus national accreditation. So for nursing school that is regionally accredited and programmatically accredited by CCNE or ACEN is the way to go.
