Just got arrested last week!

Nurses Criminal

Published

OK, so I am a complete idiot. I graduate nursing school on May the 4th and got arrested last Thursday. I go to court on May 2nd. I am charged with patronizing prostition (I know, I am ignorant). I know this is going to have an effect on my nursing license and career. My attorney believes the charges will be dismissed after I pay a fine and take a "John" class. I have never been in trouble and am a single parent. I am afraid I could have just completerly ruined my life. I fill out my application next week and the question on it is "Have you ever been convicted of a misdemeanor or a felony?" Since I haven't been to court yet, do I answer no. When do I notify TBON?

Doozy of a first post; congratulations!

No one here can tell you what to do. Good luck with whatever your decision is.

I would think that since you haven't been convicted yet, you could answer "No." I also know that paying a fine doesn't always result in charges being dismissed.

But I am not a lawyer nor do I play one on TV, so you should ask your lawyer for the most accurate answers.

Hope you learned from your mistake, and best of luck with getting through everything.

Assuming this is a legit post, my burning question is with graduation about a month away, when in the heck did you find time for a sideline of prostitution?! I barely had time/energy to shower much less anything exciting during my last semester, LOL

We cannot advise you to answer yes or no. You'll need to contact your BON and see how to proceed. Suggest contacting your Attorney, too. And, not post about this on the internet.
