How to run a Background Check on self?

I paid one company online that has a great rep but according to them I have nothing in my history. I wish that was true but it's not. I have misdemeanor convictions in my past.

Where can I see what the Nursing Board will see? How can I get a REAL Criminal check on myself?

I was asked to provide a criminal history record search from the nys office of court administration.

I think they do their search through the FBI. Maybe go to the FBI's website?

find out what agency your state uses for their background checks. often times, you can pay to get a personal copy..

If you already have a nursing license I will do state background check or go to court in which your case were and see If it was sealed.If you do not have a license I will do FBI rap sheet check to see what's on there since all BON use that.Never lie to BON they will deny you a license.

Do NY expunge records? I hear they do not.If that has changed get it sealed asap.

I ran a background check via Criminal History Record Search - N.Y. State Courts I had a misdemeanor arrest from many years ago that did not show up for me. If they did not show up for me do you think they will not show up for the Board? Which search method do they use? FBI?

I checked out the FBI Background check service but it looks like you have to get your prints taking from a third party and submit them, etc.

Sorry for late reply.What I will do If I were you, is to go on gov fbi website and check on how to order your own rap sheet.Believe it or not if you were ever finger printed for anything your prints are in their website for life.Now order the rap sheet before you face the BON.They will find it no matter, if it was sealed/expunged/set aside.They see everything,just be truthful and they may consider what you have done since then to improve your life.Never lie to them no matter how tempting.Who knows they might as well decide to help you.Show that you need the license and prove you are worth it and ready to help people.Be cool and sincere somebody will help.
