Nurse on the move

Nurses Job Hunt

Published

I am a LPN that is in school for my ADN scheduled to graduate 3/2016. I currently work Home Health through an agency & I like it. I'm having trouble with time management being a mother of a 10 yr old, wife, & I commute 1 hour to school. I failed my classes by 1 point due to financial stress in the home so I'm not confident about passing the program. Plan A is to return and pass & move to Dallas summer of 2016. Plan B, if I don't pass, move to Dallas summer 2015. Where I live in VA, the only places to work are the nursing home, dr office, or home health. I currently work q other wkend 4p -12a. I want to be an independent contractor. I know there are more options in Dallas according to the job boards. Any suggestions on time management with a full plate, LPN jobs or relocating to Dallas. Thanks in advance!

I know there are more options in Dallas according to the job boards.

The nursing employment market in Dallas/Fort Worth has been overly saturated for the past five years. I've been living here since 2005 and have witnessed the changes in the local job market with my own eyes.

Do not be fooled by the seemingly endless options on the job boards. If each job posting is receiving several hundred applications, this would indicate that the competition for jobs is fierce.
