post-interview thank you card?

Nurses Job Hunt

Published

I had an interview today with HR at a large children's hospital. It wasn't an interview for a specific position, we were just getting the initial interview out of the way so when a position does open up, my file can be sent right along to the unit. I was going to send a thank you card to the interviewer. How does this sound?

Dear interviewer,

I would like to take a moment to thank you for taking time out of your schedule to interview me on 7/17. I had a great time learning more about ::HOSPITAL::.

As we discussed, I am very passionate about working with the pediatric population, and I am thankful that I had the opportunity to share that with you. I believe that I would wit right in at ::hospital::.

I appreciate both you time and consideration and I hope to hear from you soon!

Sincerely,

Daynuh, BSN. RN

I'm really no good at writing thank you notes in general so any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds fine to me! To the point and professional.

It sounds good. The only thing you could possible include--without being too wordy--is a little piece about their mission, values, etc. Something that states why you want to be a part of the team at that hospital.

Specializes in Acute Care Pediatrics.

I think it sounds great. I believe a nice thank you goes a long way. It's just the right thing to do. :) Good luck!!!
